Mike responded quickly to our need. We had him install a garbage disposal, the Friday after Thanksgiving. He did the job quickly and professionally. He had additional time so he fixed a rocking toilet in our master bathroom (unannounced). I thought it just needed a new bolt to hold it down, but found out the flange underneath had loosened, so he re-anchored it with two new concrete screws, new wax seal and bolts. He also put new tank bolts on. The total bill was $115.00, which is really reasonable on a Holiday weekend. There was a little mess left over in the bathroom, but considering it was unplanned and fixed, who cares.

I hired PPP painters end of Feb 2016 to paint my house. They came on time, painted my house from 930 am to 4pm. I liked the fact that they were fast so I was able to move in my house the following weekend. They suggested an APP from Home Depot so I was able to visualize the colors before I could decide on which ones to use. They were also friendly and professional. I would recommend this company to friends and anyone!

Scott and his crew did a great job! He was easy to communicate with, and got the job done quick- only 4 days to paint 90% of our 2600+ sqft home (ceiling, walls, and trim). And they were able to start the job right away. We'd highly recommend Next Door Painting!

We recently worked with Wilfredo and Juanita to paint several rooms in our home as well as add crown molding. Working with them was a a pleasure as our satisfaction with the quality of the work was of the utmost importance to them. The painting and new molding look fantastic. We would definitely use them in the future for other projects as well as recommend them.

Mike did a fantastic job for us! We had just bought our first house and we wanted to have a large amount of it re-painted before moving in. The job was pretty big, it included an entry room hallway, a large living room, and stairway, all equipped with high ceilings, plus we wanted the ceilings in four different rooms painted. We shopped around first and got estimates from four different painters. The first guy quoted us a very high cost and said it would take more than a week to finish. With each painter we talked to, the quotes got better and better before finally finishing off with Mike who quoted almost half the cost of the first guy and half the time. We gave Mike the job and he almost immediately got right to work buying paint and prepping the job. He completely followed through with every aspect of our contract. He was very thorough, precise, and he would check in regularly to make sure he was doing everything exactly to our liking. Overall Mike did an fantastic job in less time than he quoted. He even did all this while our air conditioning was out during the middle of the summer! Before you hire anyone else for your next painting job, do yourself a favor and talk to Mike first!

Tim recently completed a large two home project for me. He and his crew definitely earned 100% of the 5 stars that I have listed for him. I don't always write long reviews, but I definitely wanted to take the time to write one for Sonshine Paint. Here's why and what you get with them: 1.) Professionalism and punctuality wrapped in a very engaging and joyful people. 2.) High quality work with high quality products in a highly detailed manner. 3.) High competency professionals who seek to understand your goals and can communicate options and suggestions clearly. 4.) Pricing is transparent and work timeline is accurate. 5.) The owner is on the job. 6.) No nonsense, no home repair hostage situation, no up-sell, no misquotes, no "I forgot", no "I didn't see". The quote did not change. When I added work, the quote for the added work was specifically noted and separated from the original quote. They were fair, moral, honest and transparent. I've experienced different painters in the past both as the home owner repairing life's wear and as new home buyer. Sonshine Paint stands apart from all the others in many instances. In the example of new homes or complete paint jobs, Sonshine Paint uses better long lasting products and a better application that exhibits a very tangible difference in quality. They also have a great attention to detail and sense of pride in their work so you will not find some ugly clump of texturing or a missed edge. Where the company really shined was one of the homes had some big drywall scuffs and cuts and I did not have the original paint to aid with a color match. Along with those challenges, the home had several rooms that required a color change from very dark to neutral. Sonshine executed the color change flawlessly and all of the areas that required retexturing were repaired in a manner exceeding expectation. Where Tim went way beyond expectations is in the color match. He could have easily given up, provided a close match and easily convinced me to paint more to make up for the missed match. Instead, Tim took several doors off, cut non-noticiable drywall pieces and made many trips to ensure a perfect match. His efforts saved several walls from being completely repainted thereby saving me money. With the fresh thick paint and the repairs the home looks better than when I bought it new. I also had the a lot of fencing stained at both homes. One fence was grayed with shards of stain left and looked horrible the other fence was faded even though the stain was 3 years old and covered with an additional coat of water seal. From staining in the past with normal water based stain, I figured that my fence was never going to look good again. Sonshine cleaned the fence thoroughly and used an oil based product to bring the life back into it. They used an expensive product, buy my fence looks perfect again and the finish should be very durable with the oil competent and there will be no need for a water seal. Can you find a cheaper quote on your paint work? You probably can, but I will stack all my chips on Tim that the quality and value will be greater with Sonshine Paint.

It has truly been a pleasure to work with the Paint and Designs team. They've work so hard to finish up our 7400sqft painting project. Although we're on a very short time frame to finish the project, they've never given any excuses. They just show up, and get it done. I will definitely be hiring their service again. BEST PRICES, GREAT QUALITY, AND VERY PROFESSIONAL!!

Cardona Construction (Jesus) did a great job painting our wrought iron fence that surrounds an acre of ground. He was responsive, competitively priced, polite, very clean in conducting his work, punctual, and flexible given some bad weather we had. The result was a fresh looking fence on which we've already gotten compliments.

Manny saved my renovation - and maybe my marriage! Hired Manny's Painting Services to paint the downstairs of a Condo my wife and I just purchased. When I met him, I could tell he was the guy for the job! His bid was straight forward and fair and he could work with our short time frame. Well, as renovations often go, the small project of removing part of a wall grew with the addition of plumbing and electrical. I ran out of time and wasn't able to get the Sheetrock up myself. I messaged Manny and he told me not to worry, he would get it handled - and he definitely did! I told Manny I would have the Sheetrock there for the guys by 9:30 Am. His guys were waiting at the house for me when I got back from Home Depot at 9:10! They unloaded the Sheetrock and asked for corner stripping, which o of course forgot. In the 25 minutes it took me to go to Home Depot and back, they had almost all the Sheetrock up. They filled in holes all over the house and made all the corners straight. Everything looked perfect and they even cleaned up after! Manny was on site for much of the job and made everything so easy. He told me they would be back the next day to paint (they needed to give the mud a day to dry). They guys were there early again the next day and wasted no time and got right to work! They knocked out the whole place (including a 20 foot tall stairway) in just a couple hours and everything was perfect! Manny came by soon after the job to make sure everything was perfect and it was! I can't say enough about the work Manny and his guys did! True professionals!

Merced strives to do a great job. I am very particular and he always accommodated me with a sense of urgency when I pointed out things throughout the job. His wife Laura was kind and always listened to what I wanted and did what I asked for. I like that there were at the most, only three people in my home at any given time during the project. I have hired painters in the past that have had large work crews and that concerned me, as not all people paint alike... If you can be patient and do not rush them, they will do an excellent job. I am looking forward to hiring them again to paint my home exterior.

I had an appointment with Mr Blair painting to give me an estimate to paint my house. The appointment was at Saturday the 10th 2016 at 9 a.m at the same time I had another company to assemble n arrow 10 by 20 carport , that company didn't show up so I told Mr Blair if he can do the job and assemble the carport he said yes , he came back in 2 hours with his equipment and his helper Amanda and worked 5 hours on Saturday and 4 hours and 45 minutes on Sunday the job was done by noon. Him and his helper did a fantastic job, when I get ready to paint my house I'll give him another call for sure. By the way the price was $75 cheaper than the other company;so so happy.

I’ve used Hutch’s painting in the past to paint to paint my garage. 4 years later I got married and purchased a new home that needed some work done prior to moving in. Andrew came out and consulted with us on color scheme, ect. And was very professional. His final quote was well below anyone else. We thought it was appropriate to buy him a small thank you gift:) Hope you enjoyed!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much do painters cost?

The national average cost for an interior painter ranges between $450 and $900. Interior painters can tackle everything from complete color makeovers in each of your rooms to touching up an accent wall to painting pieces of furniture. The square footage and complexity of the project, along with the materials needed, are the main factors that will affect cost. Other factors include whether you supply the paint yourself or want the painter to do so, whether you move the furniture and do the prep work or ask them to do it, and whether any repair work is needed on the walls. Painting the ceiling and the trim will also have an effect on cost. The type of paint you choose can also raise or lower your house painting cost. A gallon of paint may range from $20 to over $100, depending on quality and brand. Ask your painter if they charge per hour or per square foot, and how much you can save by doing prep work (moving furniture, etc.) yourself.

How much does it cost to paint the interior of a house?

Interior house painting costs are calculated on a few key factors. Nationally, interior house painting projects range from $200 to $2,500. The wide price range indicates how much square footage, paint selection and labor can affect cost. One pro uses a laser to measure each room, subtracting the size of the doors and windows, and then bases the quote on the square footage of the actual surfaces to be painted. Painters may provide you with savings if you opt to paint your entire home rather than just having one room or an accent wall painted. For example, the average house painting cost for an 8x12 room with 8-foot ceilings is roughly $200, when contractor-grade paint is used. Painting ceilings, baseboards and frames can also affect cost. Pros may charge per linear foot to smooth and paint baseboards. In one area pros might charge 50 cents per linear foot to paint baseboards, while pros in another part of the country could charge $1.50 per linear foot for the same task. Painters may charge flat rates for painting door and window frames, with one charging $20-$25 and another $60 per door. Geography and regional costs to do business play a major role in the cost of interior painting. The same painter in a rural region has less to pay in taxes, transportation, insurance and overhead than they would in a major city like New York.

How much does a painter charge per room?

The cost to paint a room will vary based on the size of the room, the type of paint you select, any ceiling or trim work needed, and any repairs needed. If no repairs or other additional work is needed, painting a room with contractor-grade paint could range from $1 to $2 per square foot, including materials. Selecting a luxury paint (some cost more than $100 per gallon) will certainly increase your house painting costs. Here are some additional examples of average house painting costs, per room:

  • 12x12 room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $125
  • 12x12 room with an 8-foot ceiling: about $100
  • 14x16 master bedroom with a 9-foot ceiling: about $150
  • 14x16 master bedroom with an 8-foot ceiling: about $125
  • 16x16 living room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $175
  • 16x16 living room with a 20-foot ceiling: starting at $225

My home is a new build (has never been lived in) and I would like to change the colors of the walls prior to moving in. It's extremely important to me to find a painter who is precise and can stay inside the lines and not get paint on trim or baseboards or the ceiling, etc. I prefer an actual painting company and not a few guys who paint on the side.
