I wanted a series of boudoir photos for my husband for our 15th anniversary. After a lot of searching I decided to use Thumbtack and let the photographer look for me. Thaddeus Harden reached out and after doing a little research on him I felt that he was the right photographer for me. He was not only very flexible with the timeline I had and my crazy schedule, he is a great photographer and true professional. He has been in the business for close to 3 decades and really knows what he's doing. He was extremely professional yet very personable. He made me feel very comfortable and was really able to capture the feeling and look I wanted with these photos. And that's not exactly the easiest thing to do with this type of photography, because I've seen others done that look trashy and totally unnatural. Thaddeus Harden's photos were the exact opposite. They were tasteful, elegant, playful, and above all CLASSY! Loved working with him and would hire him again in an instant!
My only issue was the person he used for hair and makeup. She just seemed a little out of touch with today. Sort of like someone who is just set in their ways and doesn't adjust to the person or the occasion. She asked me about my hair and I told her soft natural curls or waves, instead she gave me 1980's Dallas hair! As for the makeup she never asked me what I was looking for (for example glam, dramatic, natural, etc) she just started putting it on. Well, that would've been fine because she's the professional right? Wrong! She didn't have a mirror for me to look into as she worked because she said she doesn't like for people to question what she's doing! Then made the comment that she's the professional and she knows what she's doing. [Ok, a surgeon is a professional who knows what they're doing too but you're not going to let them cut into you without them showing you what they're going to do. So why should you not be able to see what a makeup artist is doing while she's doing it!] I saw the colors she was using which I thought were odd choices for my complexion but I held my tongue because like she said "she's the pro and knows what she's doing". And During the process I found out she was using some of her own makeup. (Eye shadow & blush) I know everything was cleaned and sanitary but still. That explains why she chose the coloring she did and not a palette more suitable for me. When she was finally done she handed me a little hand mirror and oh my gosh! I looked like one of those Glamour Shots tragedies from the 90's!
Thankfully Thaddeus saved the day! First, he was able to do some amazing editing to soften the makeup and was able to use some of the shots from that day. Then let me come back for some better shots, only this time I did my own hair and makeup. The hair/makeup artist was nice just didn't like her style. I think he just needs someone more in touch with and open to what women today want.
With or without a new hair and makeup person, I would go back to Thaddeus Harden Photography again and again! It was an awesome experience!
And the end results were exactly what I wanted. A very happy husband who loved his gift!
Thank you Thaddeus!!
