I was contact by Marcial from Medina Construction & Roofing and two other contractors within 10 minutes after I posted on Thumbtack that I needed a Reroof on my house, the next day he did an inspection on my roof and provided me with a detail estimate for the job and included reference from BBB and Thumbtack, plus a certificate of liability insurance. After reading some reviews and getting two other estimates, I decided to go with Medina Const. for the best price. The job was schedule whitin one week and the work was done in a full day and a half on the entire roof. Marcial is the "man" he is hands on with his crew, he actually is part of the crew, clean job from start to finish, no problem adding extra work for the terrace, and upgrading to 30 year shingle. I would definitely recommend Medina Const. for any roofing project.

Joe Janssen and Quick Roofing have been my roofing company for 2 years, after my roof needing replacing due to leaks. My roof looks great, and he's called and reinspected every now and then over the two years. I have nothing but good things to say. I recommend him highly.

Keto was great at trying to handle a somewhat non responsive adjuster. His patience and willingness to work with us was amazing compared to two other contractors. I would definitely recommend this company to friends and family. If I find the need for a roofing contractor in the future WILL be calling Keto.

My roofing repair was a small one, but Matt managed to squeeze me into his busy schedule. When it rained last week my roof didn't leak. He did an excellent job of clean up also. His price was reasonable. I want him to come back and fix my damaged cieling now.

4U Roofing repaired the ceiling in our laundry that was damaged from a leaky drain pan in the attic from the AC unit. He came the next day, did a great job removing the damaged dry wall and replaced the ceiling good as new. Very polite and professional. Cleaned up when finished. Couldnt be more pleased.

We were amazed at the service with Discount Roofing Services! We requested our estimate at 7pm on a Saturday. They were able to give us an estimate by Satellite within 20 minutes. After we had other people come to the house and give us our estimate, Discount Roofing Service still had the best estimate from an insured business. When we called to tell them we accepted their bid, they were able to come out within 24 hours and get the job done in one day. They also left the area very clean.

Rhett and Select Construction have done the roof on two houses for me. Him and Steve are both great to work with, and their crews do an excellent job. They don't consider the job complete unless it is done right, and that attention to detail and quality is why I will always go to them first for any roofing, gutter, and should I need it, fencing repairs.

I wanted to remodel my business, including adding new offices, painting, and some electric work. I began taking estimates and finally chose CARSA Construction & Roofing and I am super glad I did. CJ and his partner Alfredo were always prompt, courteous and informative. They are very competitive and do quality work. I have used them to remodel my restroom at home and would highly recommend them!

My contractor Eddie Rollins did an outstanding job installing metal fence posts. He did this job by himself and it was amazing how efficient and focus he was to ensure it was done properly. He is a very hard worker and definitely know about fences. He is an expert in his field, very personal, professional, and care about making his customer happy. You will not be disappointed with Eddie and his staff. AWESOME JOB WELL DONE!

I contacted Velesa Construction to build a patio cover for me. I compared the proposed price with several contractors and it was by far the best. But because of the price difference I was very worried. Once the construction began I became less worried and was overwhelmed with the results. The patio cover, to include two fans and two electrical outlets, looked much better than I imagine it would, it looked like it was originally built with the house. Everything was done very professionally and completed on time. Veronica was very nice and kept me informed on the status of the project. I'm very pleased with the results. Strongly recommended!

Just put my house on the market when it was suddenly hit by hail. I did not know who to turn to until someone suggested GreyHammer. They came to my home and spent a lot of time not only educating me on a variety of roofing systems. But on colors, products and how some can build equity into the home I was trying to sell. greyhammer did a fabulous job and truly making me feel like a highly valued client as all of my needs and concerns were addressed immediately. This is my home Ana because of the great custom work of GreyHammer Construction it sold in only 3 hours. I can not thank you enough. Words can not explain the thanks I have.

Wow! Rod and his crews did a fabulous job restoring my home after storm damage. They replaced the entire roof which was leaking and then painted the total exterior which made everything look brand new. Then after getting everything done on the outside they began fixing the water damage inside. Sheetrock repairs and new paint throughout much of the interior, especially the high ceiling in our great room where leaks had been visible from the storms. Thanks Rod! Your professionalism and the work ethic of your roofing and paint crews were outstanding!!!

I found ducker roofing through a referral after our last roofing company refused to work with our insurnace. We used ducker roofing and billy to replace our roof due to hail damage. Billy was very patient with our insurnace and working with them to provide what they needed for a full roof replacement. We had actually moved out of state and worked long distance with him. Billy was extremely proactive about reaching out to me on status and responding to my calls. He also send me pictures of the finished product. New owners were happy. I would highly recommend.

I just want my neighbors to know how happy I am with Trinity Custom Roofing & General Contractors, and I hope this review helps my neighbors, because reading previous reviews really helped me to make the best decision. I was waiting till all work was completed to do a full review. Then, of course, life got in the way. Thus, my review is a little overdue. So my apologies. Anyway, Trinity Custom Roofing & General Contractors did a wonderful job on my roof. They were very considerate about my dog situation and the need to access the backyard. So, they scheduled a large team and finished my roof in one day, and it looks beautiful! Also, they do free upgrades, so you can get the 3D architectural shingles at not extra cost, and they look so much better! 😍 One of my favorite things about Trinity Custom Roofing & General Contractors is that their workers were always so well mannered and respectful, and that meant a lot to me, because after most my adjacent neighbors had their roofs done, I was very apprehensive about what type of people would be at my home, after having to endure cat calls, and listening to cussing, all day, when my neighbor’s roofers were on their roofs. However, my experience with Trinity was completely different. I was never made to feel uncomfortable, and everyone was super nice. The gutter guy, that replaced our gutters, was the nicest man I’ve ever met and did a beautiful job on our gutters. They look awesome! I was so pleased. All the work done was impeccable. I could just go on and on. I’m just so thankful. Additionally, Dale Colvin, with Trinity Custom Roofing & General Contractors, was able to get both our AC units replaced, and it was completely covered by insurance. So, that was a big yay for us!🎉🍾🥂 As you can imagine I couldn’t be more thrilled with all that Dale Colvin did for our family. Dale is so nice, and we always felt comfortable with him in our home. Dale was diligently out supervising all the work done, and making sure we were completely satisfied. Trinity Custom Roofing & General Contractors greatly exceeded my expectations. I just couldn’t be happier with my decision. In closing, I’d like to mention that there’s a great deal, I didn’t know about a hail damage assessment. Particularly regarding the damage that can occur to AC units. What most people don’t realize is that hail causes coil damage and that breaks your AC, and that is covered by most insurance policies. I now realize that the biggest mistake homeowners make when accessing hail or storm damage is to contact a roofing company, that only does roofing, and not a general contractor, who also does roofing. Let me explain why. When you call out a business, who just does roofing, all they care about is your roof. However, I was fortunate enough not to make that mistake, because I happened upon, Trinity Custom Roofing & General Contractors, while researching reviews on NextDoor, and I’m very happy I did, because they covered ALL the damage to my house, and fought the insurance company for the pay out. Trinity has a comprehensive legal team, and they really fought for me to get all I deserved from the insurance company. Best of all, it didn’t cost me a dime. Needless to say, the storm damage was extensive, and Trinity’s inspection was thorough. I had everything from gutters to landscape lighting replaced, including a new roof, but most importantly I had my two, unit AC system replaced, inside and out, and it was completely covered by the insurance company. Dale Colvin with Trinity Custom Roofing & General Contractors has an expert team that ensures homeowners get everything they deserve from their insurance companies. So, if you have coil damage, that will break your AC, and if that’s determined to be caused be hail, it should be covered by most insurance policies. Anyway, my advice is to never, ever just call a roofer to access hail damage on your property. Always call a reputable company that handles it all for you, because I didn’t have to do a thing. I just called Dale Colvin and that was it. They even offered to bring over temporary AC units during the claim process. It was white glove service from start to finish, and my only effort was one phone call. Dale Colvin ‭(817) 455-4052‬ with Trinity Custom Roofing & General Contractors.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a standing seam metal roof?

A standing seam metal roof may be a strong, durable, safe choice when you’re considering metal roofing installation options. A standing seam refers to the raised seam where the sheet metal roofing panels join. Traditionally, shingles and roof panels lie flush to the roof, making them more prone to rust or penetration by water at their seams. In a standing seam metal roof, the raised (or standing) seams run vertically from the roof ridge to the eaves, with no horizontal seams. In addition, the fasteners joining the metal panels together are concealed, providing even fewer opportunities for water or moisture to build up. The cost to install a standing seam metal roof will depend on the type of metal you select, the size of your roof, and the cost of roofing labor in your region. Materials will play a major role in your metal roofing installation costs. If you select standard galvanized steel, the cost per square (100 square feet) might be in the $150-$300 range, while a high-end choice such as copper or zinc could be between $1,000 and $1,500 per square. Here is one example of cost:

  • Standing seam metal roof: $300 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000 or more.

Can a metal roof be installed over shingles?

Metal roofs are durable, environmentally friendly, safe and budget-friendly. If you’re considering an update, metal roofing installation doesn’t have to mean completely removing your old roof. In many cases, metal roofing can be installed over your existing shingles. Research building codes in your state, as many require that after two roofs have been installed, all roofing materials must be completely removed before a third roof can be put on. This protects your home’s structural integrity and your family’s safety. Carefully read contractor reviews and choose someone with extensive experience with metal roofing installation. One concern when installing metal over shingles is that over time, condensation can build on the shingles and cause the metal to rust. This will lead to rust around the panels, making them more likely to come loose in a storm. Nationally, the average cost for metal roofing installation ranges from $6,000 to $20,000. The wide price range represents different roof sizes, different types of metal, and the cost of labor in different parts of the country — and can also include the cost of removing an old shingle roof prior to installing the metal. As a line item, the average cost of removing an old roof to prepare for installing a new roof, plus adding new roof decking, costs on average about $45-$75 per square (the pro roofer’s term for 100 square feet), depending on the pitch of the roof. Always make sure you have a clearly written contract and a warranty on both the labor and the metal.

How much does it cost for a metal roof?

Metal roofing installation is an attractive option thanks to metal’s long lifespan, hardiness and fire-retardant properties. Nationally, the average cost for metal roofing installation ranges from $6,000 to $20,000.There are different types of metal roofs, each with their own installation needs and materials costs. Roof size also affects your metal roofing installation costs, as do regional labor rates. Roof size is measured in squares; one square equals 100 square feet. Here are some examples of the average cost for a metal roof:

  • Standard metal roof: $120-$150 per square to start, including materials and labor
    • A 30-square roof (a 3,000-square-foot roof) could cost between $3,600 and $4,500 for a typical three-bedroom home.
  • Snap-Loc metal roof: $200-$225 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $6,000-$6,750.
  • Standing seam metal roof: $300 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000 or more.
  • Tuff-Rib metal roof: $250-$350 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $7,500-$10,500.
  • Mid-range metal roof package, including all accessories: $300-$500 per square.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000-$15,000.
  • High-end metal roof package — such as zinc or copper — and all accessories: $1,000-$1,500 per square.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $30,000-$45,000.
