I have worked with many editors and proofreaders and Dr. Marti clearly stands out as the best. If I could give more stars, I would have. She is thoroughly professional and competent. She made significant improvements in a manuscript that I just submitted to a journal. I have also examined her editing work on one of my student’s 140-page dissertation. The members of the dissertation committee observed and commented on the significant increase in the readability and grammatical correctness of the manuscript after she had edited the document. The quality of her work is outstanding.
Dr. April Michaud is a very thorough and gifted editor and writer. After reviewing her profile on Thumbtack and working with her from start to finish on my resume, she is what she states. She honest, friendly, and gives helpful suggestions. I highly recommend her work and eye for details.
I hired Chuck to proofread a cookbook and he exceeded my expectations. I thought he was only going to fix any grammatical errors, but, instead, he made a lot more recommendations and fixed other little things that really made a difference in making the cookbook look professional.
Petrena and I just started working together in 2016. So far so good. Her organization and approach will be a key asset to this adventure of writing a book. Her experience with previous publishing was a key facet in my decision. I am looking forward to the ride.
Nick Courtright worked with me on several poems. He helped me in a way that so far no other editor / writing coach / fellow writer has been able to do, and I am quite grateful for his intervention. He basically helped me cut through the bull shit, and get straight to the meat of my writing. He saw what I could not because I was so personally involved with my work. Nick came to every single one of our meetings knowing the poems better than I did, and worked with me on every single line, every single word. I tend to write long poems, and one of the poem we worked on was over thirty pages long when we started working on it. It is now a good ten pages shorter, and a much better poem. Great big thank you to Nick Courtright. He is an excellent writing coach, editor, and poet. I hope to work with him again in the future.
Patty has created books, card games, and marketing material for our company for about 8 years. Her work is excellent, she is efficient, fair, and really easy to work with. She is both professional and friendly.
Lisa's work is outstanding. She is a careful editor, an excellent writer, and thoughtful in her revisions. I have not only read her independent work, but currently have her assisting me on a book and several articles.
We needed help updating and editing copy for our website redesign. Meaghan provided a great deal of insight, experience, professionalism and communication to help our project along.
Vincent is the most professional writing editor I have ever seen. I went through quite a few writing editors before I met Vincent, and I have to say that the detailed service Vincent provides obviously tops. Vincent is also very fast, and always keep the work down before deadline. I highly recommend.
I've been using Erin to edit my novels since early 2013. I've had two previous editors who were very capable, but Erin's skills are off the chart. She is easy to work with and handles each new job quickly. She has edited four of my novels and will edit many more...as long as I write them.
Morgan is excellent! She's helped me edit a number of essays, and has a great eye for organization and coherence. She also returned notes to me in a very timely manner. She's a pleasure to work with, and far more concise in her feedback than other editors I've encountered. Additionally, Morgan's social media abilities are exemplary, and something I plan to take advantage of in the nearby future.
Joyce served as the editor for my recent self-published book. She was affordable, very helpful, and accommodated my rushed time-line. She also offered quality advice based on her publishing experience. My only regret was that I did not have the time or money to have her review the manuscript a few more times to brush up on final errors and changes, but she worked quickly to help me meet my deadline. Next time! Good work, Joyce.
I hired David to be the editor of my first book, Babies Can Smell Fear. I wanted someone to take my work and make it better without changing my vision. I wanted someone to tell me what did not work in a way to keep confidence high while making the project the best it could be. David accomplished all of that and more. Since I was working on my first book I will admit I did not know fully what to expect or what to do. David walked me through the process and went above and beyond what I asked him to do. He set me up with a design team, helped develop the title and sub title for the book, and answered all of my questions even if they did not fully correspond with his job description. I was very pleased with the final product and so were the Mom's Choice Award judges who awarded my book a Gold level award for Parenting Humor. I know that would not have been possible without David. I highly recommend working with David. He even came to the launch party to celebrate the release of the book.

New York Publishing is a hands-on publisher that works directly with authors to assist them in the development of their work from manuscript to book. New York Publishing also offers non-publication editorial services for documents regardless of whether it is published. Not many publishing companies take the time to work with authors in this manner.
I am able to complete Transcription quickly and I type at a rate of speed faster than most transcribers which means that for larger jobs that require an hourly rate-I ultimately cost less while still giving you a superior product.

In my editing I am very adept at scanning a page of text and finding the things that don't fit (mistakes, typos, flow issues). I am also very passionate about working with writers to use the text they have created in order to achieve the best possible end result. As a writer, I use my love of language, my keen observational skills as an artist and art historian, and my wry sense of humor to convey my personality and get a message across.
I'm a passionate, uber-educated writer with 20+ years in the professional field. Medical and technical writing are my particular fortes, with an emphasis on research, instructional design, and software development. My dissertation was a novel, so academic and creative writing are happily in my wheelhouse. I love clean, cogent, artful prose. Any piece of writing can be made more streamlined, sleek, precise. That's where I come in.
