Keto Roofing put a roof on my daughter's house near the Fort Worth Zoo two years ago and then again last spring after the March hail storm. She was happy, I didn't have a roofer I was satisfied with, so I called Eric Keto to put a roof on my house. I've had a real estate brokerage for 40 years, working both residential and commercial properties for individuals, partnerships, and receiverships appointed by Tarrant County family and civil courts. I was without a roofer for the first time in memory, and the hail storms had destroyed many roofs. Also, I have been mayor of Edgecliff Village for nine years before retiring last year. I am aware of the scams and cons of many so-called roofers, and we instituted a requirement that roofers register with the city before knocking on doors. In other words, I am skeptical of new roofers. Keto Roofing put a roof on my house, staying on time and within budget, and even managed to upgrade to an impact-resistant shingle without raising the price. Several leaks the former roofer had been unable to stop were reduced to one, and then Eric Keto and the roofer's crew chief returned over and over until it was solved. No more leaks for the first time in years. The crew of roofers was excellent: laughing, polite, and hardworking. The next door neighbor hired Keto on the spot, and he put that roof on the next week. I then hired him to put on a roof of a residential property I was managing near Willow Lake. Same result: on time and within budget. I have managed a medical building for the last 30 years near Bellaire Dr and Hulen St for a partnership of doctors. It needed a flat roof and I had no commercial roofer. I thought I had found one, but when he brought me a contract with no liability whatsoever for himself and no limit for me, I called Eric Keto. While he had done excellent work, it had all been residential properties. He said he could absolutely do it. He did. There are 8 tenants in the building, and it is difficult, to say the least, to coordinate them all. After one day the TPO roof was done at nights and on weekends. Keto rented light towers at his own expense, and since night work is slower than daytime work, I'm sure it cost the company several thousand dollars. The price stayed the same. The job was so well-done that the local Mule-Hide representative, after a thorough inspection, guaranteed the roof for 15 years. That was it. I highly recommend Keto Roofing for residential and commercial roofing. If there's ever a problem, he comes back until it's fixed.

My roofing repair was a small one, but Matt managed to squeeze me into his busy schedule. When it rained last week my roof didn't leak. He did an excellent job of clean up also. His price was reasonable. I want him to come back and fix my damaged cieling now.

Mr Marquez and his crew at Discount Roofing Services are professional all the way through. Mr Marquez is the best at communicating and is prompt to respond beginning with the quote and continuing till job completion. Far superior to the difficulties I encoutered just trying to get quotes from other companies. Pricing was excellent. 2k less then most quotes and 700 less then the next lowest quote. They say you get what you pay for, however in this case Discount Roofing's work is of the highest quality. On time and quick working, while taking care to maintain the job site. Even going so far as to cover my landscaping to protect it from debris. The finished product looks great. Just as good as a neighbor that used one of the high priced companies.

My mom is retired and lives on her own so I took an extended trip down to see her so I could help her oversee a small renovation she wanted to do on her living room. It is an older home and she wanted to remove a couple walls and open up the living space to the kitchen. Mom wanted my opinion on the construction company she hired. I was very impressed when I met Clint. He explained the project to both mom & I in a manner we could understand. Gave us all the details before the project got started. I understand that it is likely to run in to additional issues when you renovate an older home as you never know what you are in for until you start tearing in to walls. And, sure enough, we had a couple issues come up. But, the entire way through the renovation Clint was upfront and very patient in explaining the details of the project with both my mom & I. The job finished on schedule- even with some additional work that my mom added on last minute - and we were both grateful that the room turned out exactly as she pictured. I would definitely recommend Clint to others and my mom won't hesitate to use him again should she require work to be done in the future.

I contacted Velesa Construction to build a patio cover for me. I compared the proposed price with several contractors and it was by far the best. But because of the price difference I was very worried. Once the construction began I became less worried and was overwhelmed with the results. The patio cover, to include two fans and two electrical outlets, looked much better than I imagine it would, it looked like it was originally built with the house. Everything was done very professionally and completed on time. Veronica was very nice and kept me informed on the status of the project. I'm very pleased with the results. Strongly recommended!

Very smart company. Like the same day estimate without needing a visit. Very thourogh and accurate. Most of the other roofing companies around here either wanted to handle my insurance claim or their estimates were very vague with poor warranties. Honestroof for sure stood out. Glad I hired them. Already hearing horror stories from some of my neighbors that used other contractors.

We had Huso Construction come repair our downstairs picture window. The workers showed up at the promised time and worked throughout the day. We were very pleased with the quality of the work, and that the gentleman took the time to salvage all our brick in order to reuse it to maintain the aesthetic quality of the house, as it is a front window that was repaired. We are very happy with the service that was provided and intend to use Huso Construction for future projects. Of note, "Value" was not checked simply because I don't have a basis on which to rate this particular measure.

I contacted A Plus with a small request. Luis picked up the ball and ran with it. Not only did he help me with my roofing claim and the insurance adjuster, but so many other projects I had coming on that property and others. As a Property Manager, I love having all my repairs performed by someone I already work with!

Brent Denbow is the person we worked with, he put a new roof on my mom's house.. my mom is 91 and Brent sat an talked to her in detail about what they were going to do he was kind and took the time to make sure she understood. I believe he honestly cares about the people he works with and has a pride in what he does. I will be using him again and again as he and the company he works for are a full service construction company.

From the very first contact I knew these guys were going to be good. I spoke with Alex and described my problem. He jumped up on my roof and came down with lots of pictures and stayed while I called my insurance company. Afterward he and another guy were there when my insurance guy came. They talked and the next thing I know I’m getting a new roof. Professional and very respectful of my property and schedule. I have been telling my friends and family about these guys they are running a very solid business. They are the best!

I found ducker roofing through a referral after our last roofing company refused to work with our insurnace. We used ducker roofing and billy to replace our roof due to hail damage. Billy was very patient with our insurnace and working with them to provide what they needed for a full roof replacement. We had actually moved out of state and worked long distance with him. Billy was extremely proactive about reaching out to me on status and responding to my calls. He also send me pictures of the finished product. New owners were happy. I would highly recommend.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a standing seam metal roof?

A standing seam metal roof may be a strong, durable, safe choice when you’re considering metal roofing installation options. A standing seam refers to the raised seam where the sheet metal roofing panels join. Traditionally, shingles and roof panels lie flush to the roof, making them more prone to rust or penetration by water at their seams. In a standing seam metal roof, the raised (or standing) seams run vertically from the roof ridge to the eaves, with no horizontal seams. In addition, the fasteners joining the metal panels together are concealed, providing even fewer opportunities for water or moisture to build up. The cost to install a standing seam metal roof will depend on the type of metal you select, the size of your roof, and the cost of roofing labor in your region. Materials will play a major role in your metal roofing installation costs. If you select standard galvanized steel, the cost per square (100 square feet) might be in the $150-$300 range, while a high-end choice such as copper or zinc could be between $1,000 and $1,500 per square. Here is one example of cost:

  • Standing seam metal roof: $300 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000 or more.

Can a metal roof be installed over shingles?

Metal roofs are durable, environmentally friendly, safe and budget-friendly. If you’re considering an update, metal roofing installation doesn’t have to mean completely removing your old roof. In many cases, metal roofing can be installed over your existing shingles. Research building codes in your state, as many require that after two roofs have been installed, all roofing materials must be completely removed before a third roof can be put on. This protects your home’s structural integrity and your family’s safety. Carefully read contractor reviews and choose someone with extensive experience with metal roofing installation. One concern when installing metal over shingles is that over time, condensation can build on the shingles and cause the metal to rust. This will lead to rust around the panels, making them more likely to come loose in a storm. Nationally, the average cost for metal roofing installation ranges from $6,000 to $20,000. The wide price range represents different roof sizes, different types of metal, and the cost of labor in different parts of the country — and can also include the cost of removing an old shingle roof prior to installing the metal. As a line item, the average cost of removing an old roof to prepare for installing a new roof, plus adding new roof decking, costs on average about $45-$75 per square (the pro roofer’s term for 100 square feet), depending on the pitch of the roof. Always make sure you have a clearly written contract and a warranty on both the labor and the metal.

How much does it cost for a metal roof?

Metal roofing installation is an attractive option thanks to metal’s long lifespan, hardiness and fire-retardant properties. Nationally, the average cost for metal roofing installation ranges from $6,000 to $20,000.There are different types of metal roofs, each with their own installation needs and materials costs. Roof size also affects your metal roofing installation costs, as do regional labor rates. Roof size is measured in squares; one square equals 100 square feet. Here are some examples of the average cost for a metal roof:

  • Standard metal roof: $120-$150 per square to start, including materials and labor
    • A 30-square roof (a 3,000-square-foot roof) could cost between $3,600 and $4,500 for a typical three-bedroom home.
  • Snap-Loc metal roof: $200-$225 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $6,000-$6,750.
  • Standing seam metal roof: $300 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000 or more.
  • Tuff-Rib metal roof: $250-$350 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $7,500-$10,500.
  • Mid-range metal roof package, including all accessories: $300-$500 per square.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000-$15,000.
  • High-end metal roof package — such as zinc or copper — and all accessories: $1,000-$1,500 per square.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $30,000-$45,000.
