We are so excited to have found Kristie! She took some great pictures of my baby, and of our whole family. She really captured the personality and family dynamics in her photography, not just an image. We have been searching for such a long time to find a great photographer with such reasonable pricing. I am so pleased with her work that we have already booked Baby's next set of pictures with her as well.

Ashton Joe is the EPITOME of amazing. Professional work with a down to earth vibe, mixed with a creative flair. There’s no point in our experience that we were overwhelmed, all thanks to Ashton. My fiancé and I arrived with no idea of what to do, and we left with a huge smile on our face. Ashton’s creativity really shines when he’s able to connect with our vision and our ideas. He never shys away from a chance to highlight someone’s uniqueness, and he is absolutely ahead of the game professionally. Ladies and gentleman, please don’t waste your money on photographers. Find Ashton and have him give your special moment the “creative artist” experience.

From the beginning Stephanie was not just professional, but also quite warm and friendly. She listened to what I wanted, offered feedback, and asked about my business to get a better idea of what I needed. I recently gained weight and had little confidence going in, but Stephanie put me at ease and the photo shoot went well. I can't wait to see the final result! She has professional equipment, a studio (although it was hot there were fans going), and introduced me to other marketing techniques she specializes in. I will definitely be using her again.

I was nervous about having a male photographer take my boudoir photos, but Bill helped me feel comfortable and confident. He was nothing but professional and kind and he took some outstanding pictures. I would definitely recommend him for boudoir photos and will definitely book him again for other projects.

Heather and Russell are phenomenal to work with. We worked with them to capture a glamorous engagement session and we loved the experience. I worked closely with Heather on the styling for the shoot, discussing everything from clothing to hair and makeup. She was always quick to respond and open to exploring new style/location ideas. We ended up with two looks and we shot out at Lake Conroe. Russell and Heather scouted out several locations before we arrived and honestly I'm not sure how they found some of the spots way back in the woods, but they were beautiful and perfect for the natural glam we were going for. Both photographers brought their own style and skill to the shoot. Heather shot with film and Russell with digital and they both captured very different and beautiful shots. I love seeing their personalities come out as much as they brought ours out! I'm so thrilled with our experience and our images (we even used several at our wedding)! I highly recommend using Writ Studio, they are exceptional and I'm already planning our next shoot with them!

Sheeee is Great!!! I had such an amazing experience with Christine and feel she was able to capture the perfect shots I desired! She is very professional but made me feel extremely comfortable/relaxed at the same time which is hard to get with some photographers. I would recommend Christine/Just for fun photography for any special occasion or moment that needs just to be caught on camera!!!

Kristen has been the only photography I have used to capture the memories of my family. My children are not very big on taking pictures and Kristen was able to make beautiful pictures with awesome poses. She will be the only photographer I use. I highly recommend her.

          About

I am a custom family photographer capturing memories! I am a natural light, on-location photographer. Simply put, I don't work out of a studio. I prefer to take advantage of God's studio, the great outdoors! I have a few favorite locations, but the options truly are endless. There is no wrong location for your photo shoot. Your family's favorite park or ice cream shop, or even your own home are all great choices. You choose, or I'll suggest a few. You can expect your photo session to be very laid back and fun! I'll choose a few posed shots throughout the session; outside of those, the remainder of your session will really be nothing more than me catching tiny, candid memories that you'll cherish forever. I am specializing in family, children and senior portraits.

          About

“I specialize in people photography, but not in regular studio portraiture, but what I call an environmental portrait. I photograph people in places they love or feel comfortable, like the beach, at their home, or in the great outdoors.  Environmental portraits should be a custom hand-crafted works of art, capable of being hung next to other objects of art in the finest homes. It should reveal something about the person or persons being photographed through the surroundings. Though many photographers reserve the term environmental portraiture only for those portraits made outdoors, I expand the definition to include any portrait made on location, whether outdoors, in the office or in the home. A successful environmental portrait will demonstrate good design, natural posing, color harmony and good expression. “ Doug Box

          Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost for a photographer for a wedding?

Finding the right wedding photographer can make a big difference for your ceremony. Nationally, the average wedding photographer’s price ranges from $800 to $1,000, but costs can be much higher in areas like Chicago, New York or Los Angeles where some couples spend $2,000 to $5,000 or more for the photographer they want. Factors that can affect your wedding photographer prices include the photographer’s reputation and experience. Heavy hitters can command top rates, especially during wedding-season weekends. Day of the week also affects your cost. You may get a $200 discount on wedding photographer prices if you get married on a Friday in November rather than a Saturday in June. Time onsite is also an important cost factor. Hiring a photographer to snap photos from the moment you wake up until after last call at the reception is going to cost more than five hours of pictures during the day. Multiple photographers, special lighting, and videography will also increase your costs. Ultimately you want to find someone who has a style you love and can provide the number of edited shots you want for a price you can handle. Learn more about hiring a wedding photographer.
