I am a 37 year old stay at home mother of two beautiful children and a wonderful loving husband who works hard to provide for us. We did a family session with her 6 months after I lost my dad. I was so ashamed at the neglectful wife and mother I had become after his passing. I chose a family session with La Masquerade because I wanted something that would remind the kids how much their dad and I love them once we are gone. I felt so comfortable with her right off the bat. At the consultation I spilled my guts about the last few months, my worries, and my anxieties. She asked me if I would take some time to have each member of my family write a letter to the other three members and to keep it private until the day of the session. The day of the session was probably the first time the four of us had been out together as a family since his funeral. I am forever indebted to her for capturing such heart warming moments. She stood quietly in the distance allowing us to read our special notes to one another while we cried and embraced. So as well as the photos she took we also framed our notes so we will never forget the love we have for one another. Thank you for giving me what I didn't know I needed for myself, Jackie.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
While attending cosmetology school I had the honor of assisting local photographers and being able to practice my craft on their models.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Look for someone with similar taste. Ask questions. Don't feel obligated to book with someone you aren't 100% positive they can deliver what you are asking for. It is important you feel comfortable with your photographer, they should know your biggest insecurities as well as your what you are most confident about. Getting to know your photographer's personality and vice versa can make all the difference in the world!
