Professional team with great service. They care about their work and your home. The areas they worked in were cleaner when they left than before they arrived. Awesome install of a TV over a fireplace with an electrical outlet behind the TV in a stone wall. I will be using them again.

Whole house interior painting including popcorn ceiling removal as well as painting kitchen cabinets. Good and efficient crew with reasonable pricing. Ms. Ross, the owner has design background and excellent advice on what works well in color selections. Very good attention to detail. In addition to painting, she produced a very competitive bid for tiling ~740 sq feet 12x24 of floor tiles. The tiling crew she provided installed the tile first with good preparation then installed tiles with very fine grout lines as requested. Overall, very impressed and would hire again for future work.

Mr. Kirby built a deck for my tiny home. Even though it was the busy holidays, he was very prompt in all aspects...from the bidding to the completion. The quality of his work was A+. Highly recommend him.

Chris helped me restore my 1965 vintage camper and did an INCREDIBLE job!! From the gutting, to the walls, to the electrical, plumbing, custom cabinets, the bed, closet, kitchen, custom butcher block countertops, there is nothing he can't do! I was so pleased with the finish product that so exceeded my expectations! So attention to detail and perhaps the thing that set him apart was his use space and managing my expectations. We had a few set backs on the build, but Chris was communicative and fair. The best part was how affordable and fair he was. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! 5 stars!

Round One: all paint colors and options have been picked and my home is fabulous with paint and double crown molding! color ... Is exciting. Updates with more design with Autumns ideas as they roll out;). Very pleased!

Kelli has a great "eye" for color and style and works well with your preferences, takes input, and is able to decorate a room or "renew" the look using much of what is already there and a very limited budget. She helped me with both my living room with fireplace and my bedroom and I am very happy with both.

I was blessed to have Paul come to my home and do the work I had asked of him. He knows his stuff people. He didn't mind me asking him questions and looking over his shoulders from time to time. In fact he welcomes it. I can't seem to say enough about his work and his work ethics . A very stand up man. Who takes pride in his craft. His price was amazing and his work was great! I feel bad because what Paul did for my stairs was more then what he charged for it. I had asked Paul to redo my stairs leading to the upstairs. And he just blew this job away. In a heart beat I would call on Mr. Paul Batcha if I needed more work done around my house. The Jimenez family :-)

Logynn knows exactly what she is doing. Without knowing me, and without being able to visit my home, she was able to pinpoint exactly what was going on in my life from the floor plan and photos I sent her. She gave specific, individualized recommendations that started producing results in hours. She also helped educate me to understand how Feng Shui works so that I can do some things for myself. Logynn is friendly, and professional, and fun to work with.

      About

We are a small family-owned general contracting company that is located in Waco, Texas. We primarily work in the Waco area, but on occasion, will do jobs within a 50-mile radius. We do approximately 90% residential work but are always looking for more commercial work. We pride ourselves on our attention to detail and our 100% customer satisfaction policy. Many of our clients call us back for additional work in their homes, which to me speaks well about the quality of our work and our employees.

      About

Transitioning Interiors will increase your home value by staging to appeal to more home buyers. This will help sell your house faster and for more money. Transitioning Interiors will do as much or as little as you want. Consultations start at $50 per hour, and you are left with a written checklist of the alterations needed to show your house's best features. Full staging service investments are based on the scope of the job. All staging costs are tax deductible.

      About

We have a set procedure for building a home staging scene. The end result is a home that is memorable and easily sold. We have a days on market of less than 30 days nationwide.

      About

My goal is to help people sell their homes by making it more presentable to sell. I do the following: 1. Get it clean (stager arranges this or owner does it). 2. Make it clutter-free (seller or stager does it). 3. Use color wisely. Put soft colors, neutrals, on the walls and floors. This expands the size of the room -- no red bedrooms and no purple. Put the punch in accessories. 4. Compromise -- When you can, put the money in something that's in poor condition, such as replacing a vinyl kitchen floor that's in bad shape, but if the bathroom counter is pink, diffuse it and go retro by hanging black hand towels, putting up a new white shower curtain, and painting the walls white. 5. Creativity -- Staging is not about spending money. I can stage homes with a ball of rope and a pair of clippers. Angle the bed, so that it opens walls and makes the room look bigger. Use nice sheets and pull back the bedspread to show off the sheets. 6. Communication -- What is each room communicating to the buyer? Do we have to change the message? Is the room calm or peaceful? 7. Commitment -- The seller has to be committed and say they can do this and not be afraid of changes.

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

      What do interior designers do?

Interior designers do much more than pick complementary paint colors and choose matching furniture — although those tasks are important parts of the job. Unlike decorators, interior designers usually have an associate of science degree or certificate of achievement in interior design from an accredited program. They’re trained in drafting, lighting and computer aided design (CAD), and are experts in room-specific design and residential space planning. Interior designers use these skills to plan and design safe, highly functional and beautiful interior spaces, from kitchens and bathrooms to family rooms and bedrooms. They determine space requirements, work within building codes and inspection regulations, and meet accessibility standards. An interior designer’s day-to-day job includes creative and technical tasks, both of which often require great communication skills:

      • Creating model rooms and visuals using design software.
      • Researching different textiles, materials, finishes, lighting and furniture.
      • Hiring suppliers, vendors, and contractors.
      • Estimating costs and making bids on potential jobs.

How do you find a good interior designer?

For many homeowners, the difference between a good interior designer and a bad one is simply a matter of taste — but all good designers have similar skill sets. Interior designers usually have a degree or certificate in interior design, with training in design principles and lighting, drafting, and computer aided design (CAD) software. Good interior designers have strong color balancing skills and understand how different colors influence spatial perception and moods. They know the building and electrical codes in the areas where they practice, and they make sure that any contractors they hire also work to those codes. They are knowledgeable about different upholstery fabrics and draperies, stay ahead of residential design trends, and maintain their own individual creativity. Also, good interior designers have excellent space designing skills, so they can arrange a space efficiently and with ideal traffic flow. Ultimately, hiring a good interior designer means pinpointing one whose signature style is complementary to your personal style — so checking out many designers’ portfolios is a must — and whose communication methods match yours.

How do you choose an interior designer?

Choosing an interior designer is all about finding one whose signature style fits well with your tastes and who can work within your budget. To choose the right professional for your interior design project, ask yourself these five questions:

      • What is your signature style? Good interior designers can both describe their personal aesthetic and demonstrate their signature style through their portfolios. Make sure it appeals to you.
      • How will you make sure the design fits my lifestyle? Good designers understand that the interior design must improve a homeowner’s experience in their home and fit into their lifestyle; for example, a white suede sofa is a poor choice for a family with large dogs and small children.
      • How much do you charge? Depending on the project, an interior designer may charge an hourly rate, a flat fee or a percentage of the project’s total cost.
      • How will you stick to my budget? An interior designer should have a plan for staying within your budget, which includes full transparency of costs and flexibility when choosing materials and furnishings.

Because an interior design project is highly collaborative and based on hard-to-define personal preferences, it’s most important to choose a designer who communicates clearly and listens closely to you.

How much do interior designers charge?

You can hire an interior design for a job as basic as a one-room consultation or as complex as supervising the design of an entire new home, helping with space planning, choosing color palettes, and shopping for furniture, flooring and artwork. The size and scope of the job will determine how much an interior designer charges; the average national cost for an interior designer ranges from $75 to $100 or more per hour. Other cost factors include the person’s reputation — interior designers to the stars are usually more expensive — and region. Most interior designers charge an average of $100-$225 for an initial consultation, but some will charge an hourly rate, usually starting at an average of $50, for larger projects that require extensive consultations. Hourly rates may be available for smaller projects, such as redecorating a living room or staging a home for sale; for instance, shopping and consulting can cost an average of $75 to $100 per hour, while staging costs and average $95 per hour. For many homeowners, a percentage of an interior designer’s cost is recouped through the professional discounts they receive from their vendors.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
