FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I offer an initial consulting meeting where I have the client describe the services that they need and then try to expand the conversation by inquiring about other related services and needs. I want to make sure that ALL of the client's needs are satisfied, as I believe I offer a complete range of services. The most important aspect of the initial meeting is to ask the right questions and establish the customer's needs. I make sure that I answer all of the questions that the client has and make sure that there is a "plan of attack" to meet all of the client's goals, deadlines, or tasks before concluding the meeting.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have two Bachelor degrees and two Master's Degrees. I have a degree in Business (Accounting focus) and I am involved in continuing education classes in several areas including nonprofit issues, payroll law, etc. I have a certification in dispute resolution (mediation) so I take certain seminars or classes in that area as well.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have been interested in accounting ever since I was in junior high and helped my mother keep the books for our Chevrolet dealership. By the time I was in high school, I was responsible for making all of the financial reports to Chevrolet Motor Division and to local lenders. Later studied accounting while at SMU and I have been doing accounting ever since.
