We requested a follow up quote to a proposal that was submitted 7 months prior. They agreed the quote was still valid and visited the job site in person 2 times. They initiated a contract and required 50% initial payment, which was cashed. After several days of giving us the runaround on possibly starting the following day, they mobilized a skid steer that parked in our driveway for 2 days. Next, we received a text message saying that they would have to charge us ~$1600 more because they do "large commercial projects that charge higher rates." They offered us a refund for the down payment, which we accepted and they did give us an extra $10. It's obvious they put higher paying jobs first even after committing to work and signing a contract.
