- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer a discounted hourly rate for Thumbtack customers at $135.00/hour. This is most commonly paid with an up front retainer. The amount of a retainer depends on the type of work to be done, the complexity of the work, the likelihood of settlement or trial, and the likely cost based on my years of experience.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to start with an initial telephone consultation to get a brief overview of the nature of your case, and the likely time and work that will be involved. At that point I will likely be able to provide an estimate of the kind of retainer that would be required. I accept some payment cases, or a combination of retainer and payments. In some cases I offer a flat fee rate, usually limited to shorter term cases. At the end of the telephone consultation, you can decide if you want to also meet in person, or if you want to proceed with retaining my services. Some clients with work demands, would prefer to do business electronically and leave in person meetings for the courthouse or hearing preparation meetings. Others need to look me in the eyes to retain me. Whatever the case, it will be tailored to fit your needs and the needs of the case.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I went to law school at Wake Forest University School of Law, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, obtaining a Doctor of Jurisprudence. I am always ahead of the amount of continuing legal education hours needed each year, such that each year I am usually required to take told zero hours to complete my continuing legal education for the year. Yet, always have a substantial amount of continuing legal education to add each and every year.
