Mr. Clark was very attentive in finding out what I wanted to obtain from his voice lessons. He was very instrumental in pointing out some habits i had developed over the years to keep me from relaxing into my transitional notes. I found his instructions to be precise and easy to emulate. ShaDana Jones, Vocalist (R&B/Soul) Ive been singing since I was 3 years old. I really dont remember not singing. A few months ago, after I started having difficulty doing the things (vocally) that I had always been able to do, I went to an ENT, Dr. Roger D. Tuggle (ENT) who also referred me to a speech Pathologist Dr. Sheread. They discovered that I had vocal nodes. I felt horrible because I thought I would have to undergo surgery and its not 100% guaranteed that I would be able to sing again. Anyway, Dr. Tuggle prescribed medication, but also told me to see a vocal coach. I discovered Damon K. Clark through a coworker and started taking lessons with him. After studying with Damon for just 2 months, I started to see improvement in my vocal ability. So yesterday I went back to the ENT and speech pathologist for a follow up. Dr. Sheread saw my vocal chords and said, No need to keep seeing me. Continue to see your voice teacher. She smiled and continued, "I love him. I'm glad you found him." Well, Im glad I found him too! If I had the money to make Damon K. Clark a Gold or Platinum plaque, it would read Greatest Vocal Coach! Take lessons from Damon K. Clark, ya'll. It's so worth the money and the investment in yourself!

DAMON IS SO MUCH FUN AND SUPER NICE! It's never just about the sound to him; its about the body, the preservation of the voice, the technique, the art, the history, the story telling, and the MUSIC. He's patient, kind, energetic, encouraging, well-educated, and an amazing teacher. Every week I come out feeling not only more confident in my growth as a singer and excited to practice for my next lesson, but also more knowledgable about the world of music and even life in general. I love hanging out with Damon and I totally recommend him to anyone looking for a teacher who can teach everything from rock to rap to musical theater and also unlock the true potential in your voice!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I always encourage scheduling a consultation first. During the consultation, there is an interview wherein the client can ask any questions he/she may have. The interview is also important so that the client can get a sense of my personality and communication style. Additionally, the interview will allow me to understand the client's music background, particular needs, and desires for his/her study. After the interview, we do some warm-ups then exercises so that I can get a sense of the student's current capabilities. If possible, I usually ask the student to sing a song or portion of a song so that I can see the student's normal habits in song. We then discuss my observations and the way forward.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I typically work with professional vocalists, but I absolutely love working with people new to singing who aspire to be great artists as well.
