I just started classes with Oscar. One class and I'm already remembering things I thought I'd forgotten a long time ago. I look forward to continuing to improve with esSpanish.(show less)
Marc took the time to learn my immediate needs ito improve my Spanish. He then has custom tailored every lesson to address my needs. I am in the Western apparel and boot industry and a large percentage of my cutomers are latin. Marc's teaching ability has provided me with the means to create stronger relationships with my latin customers, make my customers (that do not speak English) more comfortable in my place of business and all are impressed that I have made an effort to do business in their language rather than expecting them to speak English. I will continue learning with Marc as it has been a very, very positive experience.(show less)
Sharmineh is amazing!!! My husband and I do not speak another language and it was very important to us to expose our children at an early age. My two young daughters (4 and 2.5) adore her and her ability to "go with the flow" and keep their attention is a gift! We have been doing this a little over a month and the kids are excited for their "Spanish Teacher" to come over and are already remembering colors and numbers!(show less)

We chose to start off at the beginner level again and we quickly accelerated to grammar and conversations. Henry gave us the confidence to test ourselves on a trip to Puerto Rico and we did amazingly well. He works with you to build your confidence and vocabulary necessary to communicate in Spanish. I had taken Spanish classes before, but the level of progress I made with Henry in just a few months is so much greater than during several semesters of Spanish classes at school. (In fact, I would now say that taking Spanish at school was really a waste of time - compared to Henry's lessons). He emphasizes things that really matter and customizes his classes according to the student's needs and skill level. I am a teacher because I enjoy being with kids, and I want my students to experience a meaningful and interesting learning that applies to their lives. I truly believe this can be accomplished through the use of hands-on/minds-on activities, cooperative learning, an integrated curriculum and, if possible, include technology and the Internet. I am also a swimming instructor. I became an instructor a year ago at a swimming school, and I really love it! I just have the right skills to teach kids and adults to overcome the fear of water. I was a former synchronized swimmer, representing my country (Mexico) at several Pan-Am Games, Centro American games and more. I have a lot of experience!(show less)

As an educational consultant and throughout my teaching career, I have had the wonderful opportunity to instruct a diverse group of high school students, including those who performed below, on, and above grade level. I have participated in numerous professional development courses, allowing me to enhance my teaching techniques and implement engaging activities which facilitate all styles of learners. In addition to being a high school teacher, I am also a college-level Spanish tutor and Spanish medical interpreter. My experience as a Spanish medical interpreter in the last several years has enriched my cultural and linguistic knowledge of Spanish and has provided me with a greater involvement with parents and children. My greatest applicable strength is my ability to design stimulating lesson plans that instill a love for learning. I incorporate fun, manipulative and hands-on activities to accommodate multiple intelligences, encourage student learning, consolidate important concepts and enhance students' academic skills. Furthermore, I establish a relaxed atmosphere that promotes socialization and real-world connections as well as open and honest communication.(show less)
