DeHart Roofing completely tore off our old roof and replaced it with a new roof. It was done in a very timely manner even with all of the rain that we have been getting lately. The first day into the job his roofers discovered cedar shakes on a portion of the roof he came directly over personally went on the roof to do an assessment of where the cedar shakes were and gave us the new quote right there on the spot. He does not price gouge you at all, He personally went and picked up the extra material that was needed due to the cedar shakes and brought them back to the house. James has to be the nicest contractor that I have ever worked with. I explained to him that I needed the job done by a certain date due to a procedure that I was having done and did not want to deal with the inconvenience of the noise while I was recuperating from surgery. The job was done before the date that I had requested. We plan on having siding done to our home in the near future. He and his company will get the job for that as well. He was a pleasure to get to know and have him work for us.

I really like PES and would recommend them to anyone who need a roof repair or replacement. As a matter of fact, while working on my roof, my uncle and my neighbor saw and like what PES done to my roof so they asked PES to give them an estimate as well. One of my biggest pet peeves was unresponsive contractors but Javier with PES was very responsive. He will go out of his way to work with your schedule and return your missed phone calls promptly. PES fees were very reasonable, respectful and friendly crew, and did a good job of cleaning up after. Highly recommended.

I received three quotes. Mr. Garcia's quote was much less than the other two quotes due to the amount of shingles that were necessary to reroof my house. I told him the other roofing contractors quoted more shingles than he was and asked what if it takes more? He said the difference would be on him due to a wrong estimate. When he came to sign contract, he remeasured my roof and said he was correct in his estimate. Mr. Garcia saved me some serious $$$$. I was so happy with the one day roofing job, I am hiring him to do more work for me as well as my neighbor is hiring Mr. Garcia to do work for him as well. Thank you Robert Garcia for you honesty, integrity and one day service...!

Mr. Walker was very helpful. I had a small leak in my townhouse that three other roofers could not locate. It took Jack a while to find the leak. He finally came out in the pooring rain to figure out where it was. I thought that was over the top.

We needed immediate help with a leak in our roof and Francisco was able to come by the same day I called to give us a reasonable quote on the repairs needed. The work was promptly completed this morning. We are exceptionally satisfied with the quality of work done and the professionalism Francisco and his colleague showed us. Should we have anymore problems we will be calling Expert Roofers and remodeling again.

I am speechless with the words with the outstanding work performance 24/7 Roofing done for me in the Rain ☔. I contact the company at 6:45 AM since their advertisement indicates 24-hour services! The company answer my call which I was very surprised and had a Roofer Tech at my Door by 8:47 A.m. and greeted himself very professionally and provided me with a business card. He immediately asked for permission to enter D home and I showed him where the roof was leaking into my home, he enter into my attic and then went onto my roof. He came back and provided me with pictures of the Damage area which I needed to replace my Back Boots. He wrote me A estimate and provided me with step by step from the beginning to the end how the job will be done. For the mean while he place 2 tarps to stop the leaks for the mean while until the rain STOP they will return back to complete the job. No money up front like the other roofer asked for half up front and wanted to charge me alot more money then what I was told by 24/7 which I found to be 30 % cheaper then the last Roofer gave me Estimate. I will now on continue to use this Roofing company for my services and the money I invest into my roof, they mention they will put that as a down payment when I decide to put a new roof which needs to be replace in 5 years from now. This company met my expectation on their services. Thank y'all for the honesty services... 2 Thumbs up.....

JM is totally responsive and accountable. I have been troubled with my roofing need for nearly 2 months because I am out of state. JM is the final one out of the other 4 roofers (all highly rated) in addressing all the inconvenience in negotiation and did an excellent jobs at the end. I am recommending him for my realtor and will use him for other projects when needs arise.

I was referred to Castle Roofing through a good friend of mine after dealing with the hassle of other roofing companys. I was extremely satisfied with the customers service and speed of the overall process... I was so stressed and darn near loosing my mind over a leaking roof I was quickly put at ease over this whole process and assured that I was a top priority! My roofer actually got on the roof that day and tarped it! I am so extremely satisfied with Castle Roofing and my new roof that didn't break the bank!

        Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a standing seam metal roof?

A standing seam metal roof may be a strong, durable, safe choice when you’re considering metal roofing installation options. A standing seam refers to the raised seam where the sheet metal roofing panels join. Traditionally, shingles and roof panels lie flush to the roof, making them more prone to rust or penetration by water at their seams. In a standing seam metal roof, the raised (or standing) seams run vertically from the roof ridge to the eaves, with no horizontal seams. In addition, the fasteners joining the metal panels together are concealed, providing even fewer opportunities for water or moisture to build up. The cost to install a standing seam metal roof will depend on the type of metal you select, the size of your roof, and the cost of roofing labor in your region. Materials will play a major role in your metal roofing installation costs. If you select standard galvanized steel, the cost per square (100 square feet) might be in the $150-$300 range, while a high-end choice such as copper or zinc could be between $1,000 and $1,500 per square. Here is one example of cost:

        • Standing seam metal roof: $300 per square to start, including materials and labor.
          • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000 or more.

Can a metal roof be installed over shingles?

Metal roofs are durable, environmentally friendly, safe and budget-friendly. If you’re considering an update, metal roofing installation doesn’t have to mean completely removing your old roof. In many cases, metal roofing can be installed over your existing shingles. Research building codes in your state, as many require that after two roofs have been installed, all roofing materials must be completely removed before a third roof can be put on. This protects your home’s structural integrity and your family’s safety. Carefully read contractor reviews and choose someone with extensive experience with metal roofing installation. One concern when installing metal over shingles is that over time, condensation can build on the shingles and cause the metal to rust. This will lead to rust around the panels, making them more likely to come loose in a storm. Nationally, the average cost for metal roofing installation ranges from $6,000 to $20,000. The wide price range represents different roof sizes, different types of metal, and the cost of labor in different parts of the country — and can also include the cost of removing an old shingle roof prior to installing the metal. As a line item, the average cost of removing an old roof to prepare for installing a new roof, plus adding new roof decking, costs on average about $45-$75 per square (the pro roofer’s term for 100 square feet), depending on the pitch of the roof. Always make sure you have a clearly written contract and a warranty on both the labor and the metal.

How much does it cost for a metal roof?

Metal roofing installation is an attractive option thanks to metal’s long lifespan, hardiness and fire-retardant properties. Nationally, the average cost for metal roofing installation ranges from $6,000 to $20,000.There are different types of metal roofs, each with their own installation needs and materials costs. Roof size also affects your metal roofing installation costs, as do regional labor rates. Roof size is measured in squares; one square equals 100 square feet. Here are some examples of the average cost for a metal roof:

        • Standard metal roof: $120-$150 per square to start, including materials and labor
          • A 30-square roof (a 3,000-square-foot roof) could cost between $3,600 and $4,500 for a typical three-bedroom home.
        • Snap-Loc metal roof: $200-$225 per square to start, including materials and labor.
          • A 30-square roof could cost $6,000-$6,750.
        • Standing seam metal roof: $300 per square to start, including materials and labor.
          • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000 or more.
        • Tuff-Rib metal roof: $250-$350 per square to start, including materials and labor.
          • A 30-square roof could cost $7,500-$10,500.
        • Mid-range metal roof package, including all accessories: $300-$500 per square.
          • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000-$15,000.
        • High-end metal roof package — such as zinc or copper — and all accessories: $1,000-$1,500 per square.
          • A 30-square roof could cost $30,000-$45,000.
