Cathy totally has all the connections she needs to make your event special! I had a wedding and it was absolutely amazing. The invitations took a while longer than expected to arrive and it did kind of set us back a bit but that is the only thing that went awry. Cathy is willing to meet up which was a big deal for us since only one of us can drive. Cathy can make your day very special!

I can not tell you enough great things about Tiffany, she was just amazing! First off she is extremely nice. She emailed or called back almost immediately every time. She was always ahead of the game and was very organized. She was very affordable compared to many other wedding planners we looked at but still went above and beyond. She also made a short video of our wedding for us which we just loved!

I had a wonderful experience with MK Events. I needed a wedding weekend welcome bag program, koozies, and escort cards. I had a very specific vision as I am not fancy and wanted a beer and camping theme instead. MK Events worked with me to give me the perfect event. I will post pictures when I get the professional pictures back. Although they were in Texas and I was in NJ, we had zero problems communicating via email. I highly recommend this team!

Attending an "out of town" wedding is always a potential for disaster and/or unwanted stress. Not when we recently traveled to the Dallas area to see our niece get married. The planning and attention to detail was obviously well thought out and orchestrated beautifully. Details including hotel choice, maps and time schedules for group dinners for the out of town visitors both prior to the wedding as well as the actual wedding day were so helpful. The venues were perfectly layed out and the fluidity of the day made the hours fly by! All of the "extras" that were at the wedding added to the experience. The choices in food, baked items, photography, DJ and all the services that go along with a big wedding were obviously suited to the Bride and Groom rather than the wedding planner. As guests, we focused on the beautiful experience and everthing around us happened seemlessly. No one ever seemed stressed or led us to believe there was ever a problem or issue coordinating everything. Hats off to a job well done!

Kelci was a great help for our wedding! I didn't have any idea where to start and Kelci helped us through the whole process of planning. We were also planning our wedding from out of state and it was a great help to have someone on the ground to assist. All the people she suggested were great and she was very budget conscious with her suggestions. She also did our florals, which were beautiful. We had people asking us where we had gotten our flowers done! On the day of, she was a great help. She made sure everyone was coordinated and made sure Matt and I got a chance to eat our food and enjoy the reception.

I served as the officiant at a wedding ceremony that was planned by Integrity. From a vendor to vendor relationship they worked well with me providing everything I needed to perform my portion of the ceremony. They were personable and worked hard for the couple to hav a good experience.

Donna from Much Obliged Events was invaluable in helping our wedding go smoothly. We used the Weekend-Of package, with a few extra additions. Donna first met with us to get an idea of our vision and was able to answer many of our basic questions with her experience in wedding and event planning. She kept in contact via email and text (my preference) and provided us a spreadsheet to organize everything. This included several things I hadn't even thought of! We met again before the wedding to go over everything, and capture any details that were missed. Once our schedule was nailed down, she created a timeline for us and vendors to use on the wedding day. Our rehearsal was challenging since our wedding party was very chatty and unfocused in their excitement, but Donna took charge and gave very clear instructions. She handled much of our venue setup for us, and had a list of where all items go after the event. The day-of, she was ready-to-go and took care of details as they came up. I'm sure there were things that did not go as planned, but everything was taken care of before the issue got to me or the groom. I think our large reception would be stressful for any coordinator, but Donna handled everything that was needed behind the scenes. Everything for our wedding seemed to magically come together thanks to Donna and it was wonderful to enjoy the day with each other and our guests without worrying about managing the details ourselves. I would highly recommend Much Obliged Events, and was very pleased with the quality of work!

I’m that person who hates planning! I got engaged in September and wanted to get married at the end of March. At the beginning of March I had literally nothing done. When I found Lauren, I told her how important that date was to me and she just took charge and had my whole wedding planned in about 3 weeks. All I had to do was answer a string of “yes” or “no’s” to options she would give me. Not only did she do everything for me, she was very hands-on. We got to the venue late and my hairdresser had already shown up so I had to go sit and get ready with none of the decorations set up. I could see everything from the window and watched Lauren hauling tables and chairs across the lawn, down a hill, to set them up. I felt really guilty sitting there getting pampered while she was doing all the hard work. My wedding was absolutely gorgeous and looked like a storybook. None of it would have come together without Lauren!

Latosha hosted a  birthday party for me at a  hotel and it was fabulous. Latosha is savvy, and a fun event organizer with great attention to detail and a keen eye for design. She also handled everything like a professional.  She knows so much about every aspect of event planning, vendors and prices. Latosha  handled my party  like a professional, I cannot say enough about how amazing it was. Hiring Latosha  will be the best decision you will make for planning your wedding or party.  She is super responsive and always pleasant to work with. She is so calm, cool and humble that not only does she make sure your event runs smoothly, but her calm demeanor helped to ease your nerve. I would HIGHLY suggest hiring Latosha for your next event. She was very hands on, generous with her time and very affordable when compared to other coordinators. I feel absolutely comfortable recommending All My Love Events to anyone and that's why I give them 5 Stars.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What does a wedding event coordinator do?

Pulling off a large, complex wedding or an elegant, small affair requires juggling myriad details, including the officiant, food, drink, wedding cake, entertainment, transportation, rehearsal dinner, photography, equipment rentals, venue reservations and more. A wedding event coordinator can help you keep track of these details, overseeing the planning process and managing everything on the day of your wedding. Each wedding coordinator (and wedding) is different, but in general you can expect an event coordinator to:

    • Help you devise a realistic wedding budget and hold your vendors to it.
    • Map out a master plan that includes all of the details including ceremony music, favors, the guest book and more.
    • Suggest ceremony and reception locations that fit your wedding size, budget and vision.
    • Suggest florists, photographers, bands, caterers and other vendors that fit your budget.
    • Negotiate vendor contracts for the best deals.
    • Create a timeline for the day of the wedding that includes each vendor and member of your wedding party.
    • Mail invitations and track RSVPs.
    • Answer questions about wedding etiquette and current wedding trends.
    • Manage the wedding day from supervising vendors and setup to handling last-minute emergencies.

    What is a wedding planner?

A wedding planner is a professional service provider whose job it is to organize and execute all the details of a couple’s wedding. A wedding planner can be contracted at any stage in the wedding planning process to help to any degree the couple is willing to pay for. Wedding planning is similar to event planning in that a planning team handles the coordination of multiple wedding elements including catering, venue, guests, entertainment, decor, transportation and more. Anyone who has ever been involved in a wedding can confirm that wedding planning is hard work. Experience brings wisdom when it comes to avoiding or resolving day-of challenges. There is no legal regulatory body that oversees or certifies wedding planning as an industry. Anyone who chooses can call themselves a wedding planner. When looking for a wedding planner, be sure to read reviews, and make smart hiring decisions by asking about licenses and insurance.

Do I need a wedding day coordinator?

Even if you’ve handled every detail of planning your wedding, you might appreciate having a day-of wedding coordinator in your corner. Usually, the coordinator meets with you a few weeks before your wedding to put together a detailed timeline of everything that needs to happen on your wedding day. Then, on the big day, the coordinator makes sure everything goes according to plan — and handles any emergencies that pop up, such as party crashers, missing tuxedos, late vendors, disappearing bridal party members and more. Most wedding coordinators also handle:

    • Distributing the wedding day timeline to all of your vendors.
    • Coordinating all of your vendors, including the photographer, florist and baker.
    • Conducting the wedding rehearsal.
    • Helping the bride and her wedding party get dressed and take photos.
    • Checking floor plans, lighting levels, cake placement, menus, favors and more.
    • Collecting the wedding gifts and keeping personal items safe and accounted for.

Even if you don’t think you need a wedding coordinator, check with your venue. Some require that couples hire a day-of wedding coordinator for the day of the event.

How much does it cost for a wedding planner?

Wedding planning is a full-time job — unless you hire a professional to handle the hard work for you. The cost for a wedding planner will depend on the level of service you desire. The least expensive wedding planner option is day-of coordination, then partial service, then full-service.

The national average cost for wedding planning is between $990 and $1,300. Costs are greatly affected by region, with rural or smaller-town wedding planners often far more affordable than planners in higher-cost cities. Here are some examples of the various levels of wedding planning and their potential average costs:

    • Day-of-wedding coordination: $800-$1,700. Day-of services can include the planner finalizing all details, creating a timeline, confirming vendors and overseeing all setup, day-of activities, and cleanup. The couple does all the front-end planning and contracts all the vendors. Time commitment could be about 15-25 hours, depending on pricing.
    • Partial service: $1,500-$3,800. Here the planner works with the couple from the beginning, helping contract vendors, creating a timeline, and overseeing all details of day-of execution. Time commitment could be about 30-60 hours, depending on package and pricing.
    • Full service: $3,500-$8,000 or more. Here the professional handles all wedding and planning details including working on design, securing rentals, getting the venue and vendors, and handling complete execution of the event. Time commitment could be 50-150 hours or more, depending on package and pricing.
    • Consulting: $50-$150 per hour for design, vendor, reception and other wedding planning consultation.

How much do day-of wedding coordinators cost?

A day-of wedding coordinator makes sure that every detail of your wedding day goes off without a hitch, and deals quickly and quietly with any last-minute emergencies. For many brides, the day-of wedding coordinator is their best investment! The average national cost for a wedding coordinator is $800 to $1,000. Although full-service wedding coordinators often charge a percentage of the total wedding budget, most day-of coordinators charge a flat fee plus an additional hourly fee if the day runs long. For example, a 15-hour day-of coordination costs an average of $600, plus an additional $45 per hour if the coordinator works more than the planned 15 hours. Another option is to hire a coordinator to manage the last-minute details leading up to the event; for example, 25 hours of month-of coordination costs an average of $1,200. Several factors affect the cost of day-of coordination, including the region, the planner’s experience, and the specifics of the wedding. If the ceremony and reception are in two different locations, expect to pay more than if they’re in the same place. Also, extra details, such as managing food trucks or setting up snacks in addition to the meal, will increase the cost.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
