There are several items you need to be concerned with when hiring a contractor. 1. Are they insured? Contractor liability insurance is to protect you the property owner. Should one of the contractors employees fall through your roof, liability insurance provided by the contractor protects you from that instance. 2. Has the contractor been in business at least 3 years? 3. Are they a member of the BBB in good standing? The bottom line is you need to feel good about who you are dealing with, if they give you a low estimate, ask them what they are leaving out?
