I will definitely recommend Fence Masters to anyone that is looking for excellent, quality, professional fence installation. I am very pleased with the resulting installation and product. Fence Masters did an excellent job on installing my 8 ft. Cedar fence. The whole process was handled professionally and in a timely manner. In fact they contacted me earlier than I expected to let me know that they were running ahead of schedule and wanted to see if it would be okay for them to begin my installation a day early. Of course it was and they stayed in contact with me during the whole job keeping me apprised of what was happening. I did call to ask about a couple of things and they responded immediately answering my inquiries. The fence looks great and I have already gotten complements from several of my neighbors about how good it looks. Fence Masters completed the job, cleaned up everything and notified me that they were finished and set an appointment to meet me at my property to view the completed results. The quoted cost was very reasonable and the finished product backed up the total value. Give them a try....I am sure you will be satisfied with their services!

Highly recommended! Very pleased - less than a half-hour passed before Cody contacted me about the project; less than a day passed before the job was done! Cody was professional, knowledgeable, courteous and punctual. Braughton & Sons do great work at competitive prices...I'll be contacting them the next time I have a fence project for sure.

This review is long over due! Firewheel Roofing and fence designed and built a GORGEOUS fence on my property in June...I don’t think I could be any happier with the work they have done! I had been wanting to have a fence installed for my dog, Lulu, since I first purchased my house in June 2017; that fall, I had contacted Raza to start discussing design and estimates. Although it took me a long time to save the funds to get exactly what I wanted, he was still willing and excited to work with me a year later, (and was even open to some changes that I wanted to make to our plan). He was very flexible and VERY patient with me.... the fence design/layout I had envisioned was a little out of the ordinary, and Raza was extremely helpful by providing input on the aesthetics and utility of the fence. He also knew that getting this fence had become something VERY important and meaningful to me - I wanted my senior dog to be able to enjoy her yard in the last few months of her life. Raza and his team built a fence that was even better than I had imagined. I appreciate their persistence and hard work - much of the fence had to be installed on very difficult terrain (and in poison ivy! In the summer heat!), and the results are gorgeous. Every day I sit outside and admire my awesome fence, and I am so thankful that I found a company that was willing to work with my vision and create it in to something even better. Thank you Firewheel Roofing and Fencing, not only for my amazing fence and wonderful service, but for helping me give Lulu her yard for the last month of her life. ❤️

Eric was great. We are having a wedding in our back yard. Southwest built a new cedar fence. We needed some landscaping and 2 trees planted so we could light them. The work was very professional. Those guys worked hard and were CLEAN. My biggest concern was we needed to keep the grass spotless. Very professional owner and would recommend if you want no BS and results without wastin time and money. John Price

My husband and I needed our entire bathroom and part of our master bedroom space redone and reconstructed. Gary was able to start right away, and we trusted him fully to work throughout the day in our home without us there. The project ended up being so much more work than we originally intended as our floor joints had to be completely replaced due to rot. Gary was patient with the project and his prices were very reasonable. He was very adept at framing the space (we moved several walls), and he was knowledgeable about every step of the construction project. Ultimately, the project called for him to utilize a very diverse skill set, including foundation work, carpentry, framing, structural re-enforcement, drywall work, electricity, plumbing, carpentry, patching wood floors, door and baseboard trim, tiling, cabinetry, and hanging a shower door. During the project, we even expanded our project past his comfort zone in a several areas (namely vaulting the ceiling and using a non-water based grout boost mixer for intricate tile work), but he was flexible with every step and achieved a result that looks stunning. Outside of the technical side, I want to commend Gary's communication, honesty, and professionalism. It was evident that he took a great deal of ownership in the project, and that showed in his responsiveness and willingness to communicate with us. There were mornings that he would get there and show us fixtures that he had been researching after he had gone home the night before. He was very responsive whenever we had a question, and he would send us updates throughout the day while we were at work. Obviously there are ups and downs with any contractor and major house project; I have never once heard of a perfect home renovation story. But Gary worked with us through any frustrating moments with grace and professionalism, which is often rare to find. Ultimately, we would hire Gary again for future projects, and we love our final result. Our bathroom is simply beautiful and we have gotten so many compliments already.

Ever did a great job repairing the ceiling drywall/sheetrock in my garage. He was on time and got the work done quickly. The drywall was starting to fall down from the ceiling in various areas and he was able to repair it and fix the seams so it looks like a brand new ceiling. We were so impressed with the work that while he was there we asked if he could give us a quote to replace our back door and the frame where some of the wood is damaged. I highly recommend Ever and obviously would hire him again.

I had my fence replaced by someone else and it didn't turn out that great, but I'm stuck with it. The gate was a disaster, so I had them rebuild it. Their second one worse than the first! So I hired a second contractor(?) to remove and replace the first guys gate, to the tune of $450.00! Their gate was horrible, so I had them re-do it. Still completely unacceptable. That's when I found Excalibur. Why couldn't I have found them first? Thanks to Excalibur, I now have a beautiful gate, that's professionally built and installed. I would recommend them to anyone. They have it all going on...courteous, professional, punctual, etc., etc. They did a fantastic job at a great price!

This company is awesome. They did an outstanding job on the fence. The new fence matches the old fence and they came up with the way of making sure my little dogs could not get out through the fence. I also asked them to do a couple of other jobs for me not related to the fence and they were just wonderful. I would highly recommend them for whatever job you need done.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to install a vinyl fence?

A new fence can mean added home value, increased curb appeal, and improved home security. The national average vinyl fence installation cost is $4,600. Vinyl fences have a number of appealing qualities such as their durability, their lasting good looks (they don’t weather like wood does), their versatility, and the fact that they require little to no maintenance such as staining. Fencing companies typically charge per linear foot for vinyl fence installation. They calculate their estimates based on materials to be used, height of fence, linear feet of the proposed fence, and the accessibility of the terrain. If the workers need to level the land before work begins, your vinyl fence installation costs will probably increase. Vinyl fences are typically more expensive than wood or chain-link. For example, one company might charge $19-$22 per linear foot for a basic 6-foot vinyl privacy fence. Another company might charge $25-$35 per linear foot for standard vinyl fencing, while decorative fencing with custom detail could increase that cost to $50 per linear foot. For a 6-foot-high white vinyl privacy fence with two walk-through gates (plus demolition and disposal of the old fence), the cost of the total project could run $8,000. A 4-foot-high, 36-linear-foot white picket vinyl fence with one gate could cost $2,600.

How much does it cost to put up a chain-link fence?

Chain-link fence is one of the most affordable options for adding safety and value to your home or business. The national average chain-link fence installation cost is $2,750. Chain-link fences are relatively simple for the pros to install; a fence of less than 150 linear feet can often be put up in under one day. A good rule of thumb is to add an additional workday for each additional 100 linear feet of fence to be installed.

Chain-link fence installation costs are affected by the fluctuating cost of steel, regional labor rates, the height of fence you select, and the features you select, such as a powder-coated finish. The industry standard is galvanized steel, which is rust- and corrosion-resistant. Galvanized chain-link fence installation cost, including labor and materials, is typically $12 per linear foot. For a more contemporary and elegant option, black powder-coated galvanized chain-link fence might cost approximately $15 per linear foot on average, including materials and labor. For industrial sites or businesses, 10-foot-high galvanized chain-link fences may provide additional security, but also have an added cost. A 10-foot-high chain-link fence could cost $17-$18 per linear foot, including labor and materials.

How much is a redwood fence per foot?

A redwood fence is a long-lasting home investment that can add beauty and major curb appeal to your home. Redwood fence installation costs are higher than those for pressure-treated pine or cedar, due to the relative scarcity of the wood. Pricing can vary for redwood fence installation costs based on regional labor rates, current prices of redwood planks, the height and linear feet of the fence, and any custom designs or features. Redwood fences, in addition to being beautiful, are naturally more resistant against bugs and rot than less hardy or dense woods. Redwood fences also generally fare well in wet or humid climates due to their natural oils — which also make them easier to maintain. Materials costs per linear foot for redwood planks can range anywhere from $6 to $20 or more, depending on grade, quality and height.

How much does it cost to install a wood fence?

Help define your property line, protect your home and yard, and boost your curb appeal with a new wood fence. The national average for wood fence installation cost is $3,250. Wood fence installation costs will vary based on your geographic location, the type of wood you select, the height and style of wood fence you desire, and the condition of your property. Pressure-treated pine is a common and attractive choice that is usually resilient against rot and bugs. Cedar is another budget-friendly option that, although more expensive than pressure-treated pine, can be more affordable than redwood or teak. A wood fence requires maintenance to ensure its long-term health and beauty, so keep future staining and painting costs in mind when you’re calculating fence installation costs. Here are some examples of how height and material affect the approximate cost of wood fences:

  • 6-foot-high, pressure-treated pine fence: $15-$17 per linear foot.
  • 4-foot-high, pressure-treated pine fence: $13-$20 per linear foot.
  • Cedar fence: $18-$25 per linear foot.
  • 6-foot-high, double-sided (meaning both sides are uniform), pressure-treated pine fence with 6x6 posts: $25 per linear foot.
  • 12-foot-high, pressure-treated pine fence with custom detailing: $75 per linear foot.
  • 6-foot-high, pressure-treated pine fence with a custom lattice top: $30-$50 per linear foot.

How much does it cost to install a fence gate?

Adding a gate to your fence can be a practical way to provide access to a yard, work area or outdoor living space while ensuring safety and privacy. Gate installation costs will vary based on the gate material you select, the size of your gate, whether you install a fence at the same time, and any special features you’d like to add. Standard opening size for a single-wide gate is 4 feet; a double-wide gate is 8 feet. A small gate may be for decoration; a double-wide gate can be mounted on a rolling caster system to allow access for cars or wide loads. Here are some examples of average fence gate installation costs:

  • 4-foot, single-swing chain-link gate: $100 for materials and installation costs.
  • 28-foot wheeled chain-link gate on a caster system: $800-$1,000 for materials and installation costs.
  • 4-foot, single-swing wood gate: $75.
  • 8-foot double-wide wood gate: $150.
  • 4-foot white vinyl walk-through gate: $300–$400 for materials and installation costs.
  • 8-foot, double-wide white vinyl gate: about $800 for materials and installation costs.
  • White vinyl gate fence more than 8 feet wide: $1,200-$1,500 for materials and installation.
  • Arched black powder-coated aluminum pool gates: $175-$200 per gate.
