I have worked with Shane on a number of different projects, ranging from a single brochure to a full, award-winning program for the Dallas Advertising Association, to a complete marketing program combining print, online and trade show. Shane is an excellent collaborator. While he is a strong advocate for what he believes needs to be part of the design, he is never annoyingly balky, like many designers, about changing typefaces or making small tweaks that I want to see. He is smart, creative, interesting and easy to work with (for me, at least). We have worked with my supplying text for him to design around, him supplying design for me to write around, and even my writing while he designs while we're on a GoToMeeting. Although he'd definitely prefer the first option, he is incredibly adaptable for what we needed on the deadlines we have. I work in the legal industry, where it's easy to use visual cliches, and Shane avoids those while helping me think outside the norms. I am very picky, and except for a couple of times when I wasn't sure what I wanted, Shane has always exceeded my high expectations. I would and do hire Shane whenever possible, and I recommend you do the same!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I work with clients per project or set up an annual retainer that gives them a budget, allowing them an investment of creative services every month. I can do a flat rate, too. Usually in the beginning of the relationship I request 50% up front and then 100% after I deliver digital files.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, constantly staying up with most recent digital advances and design strategy.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
After the military I wanted to do something related to the arts and creativity.
