How did you get started doing this type of work?
I discovered an affinity for clay in 1968 and haven't been able to get my hands clean since! It is my artistic passion.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Much of what I do is custom design. However, an equally large part of my work is for galleries in Fort Worth and Dallas.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I prepared a piece for submission to a juried state-wide competition called the Best of Texas Clay and was chosen as one of those to be included in the exhibition.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Focus on someone who has done clay work (pottery) enough to be able to communicate the steps necessary to promote success.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
My years in education and clay help me analyze each step of the process and break it down to the process necessary to make each portion of the process easier to understand. My work is the result of years of practice and looking for inspiration in nature and other things around me.
