Hired him to clean our carpets when we moved in. He was on time and very efficient, even gave us some cleaner to clean any future animal spots! Definitely recommend.

You wouldn't believe the state of the house when I asked Lashonda and crew to help me out. We are selling my mother's house because she passed away and because she was sick the house hadn't been cleaned in a long time. She was able to provide same day service even. I called at 9:30am and she said they could be out at 11am and they were there on time! They were a three person crew and these ladies worked very hard to get everything in the house as clean as possible. Trust me, the bathroom toilets, tub and showers were very dirty. And the linoleum was just as bad. When these ladies were finished they cleaned up trash and even hauled away some bags of trash I had (for a reasonable additional fee). I could not believe my eyes when I saw the work these ladies completed. It looked like a totally different house. Fantastic job and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Lashonda and her team.

This was a one time full house cleaning - no dishes, laundry or making the beds. Carlos and his partner arrived on time and were diligent and professional. Both did not smell of smoke. They had their own cleaning equipment. I did request them to use my Dyson vacuum cleaner. They worked for 3 hours. It was their first time at our home. They accidentally forgot to clean my downstairs full bathroom for the guests. For the master bathroom, the countertops were still dirty and the shower was not cleaned on the inside. They did not dust the tops of my hanging pictures (6 total) in the master bedroom. Booooo! Loved how they made my kitchen appliances and piano shine. I like that they cleaned my downstairs windows in the living room from the inside. Overall, I think they did an average job and would re-hire them if they resolved to complete what they missed and check their work before they leave to ensure quality is up to par. This team needs some improvement but has great potential if they learn from their mistakes.

Missed several places that needed to be dusted or vacuumed but each cleaner was very nice and extremely professional. We pointed out several spots that needed to be done, and they were happy to fix anything they missed. Overall, I'd use them again!

I prayed for a good cleaning service (been through some really bad experiences), and the good Lord answered!!! Hands down the BEST cleaning service I've ever gotten. And I am a pretty thorough person... Okay I'm a certified germaphobe! Miriam, Gaby and Lorena did the most amazing deep clean ever. The sweetest most professional ladies you'll ever meet! They left nothing untouched and everything they touched was left better, neater and way cleaner than they found it! They dusted and cleaned under and around everything, and they left my home sparkling and smelling so fresh. Bravo!!!!

Happy I called Elena. I needed a last minute cleaning last weekend due to family coming into town. I booked and got a next day cleaning. The cleaner was very nice and I felt comfortable with her being in my home. She brought her own cleaning products, which I thought was cool. I had her use my floor cleaner (which I requested due to my wood floors being a pain) BONA. I liked the attention to detail on my stove and shower. All my bathroom products she organized nicely. Definitely will be using them again, and highly recommend.

Kello and Maria were amazing cleaners. I have a studio apartment in Denton and they were extremely flexible with making a short notice cleaning. They arrived early and were able to begin before my requested appointment which allowed me more free time during my day. They got to work quickly and cleaned the bathroom from wall to wall, dusted everywhere, vacuumed, mopped, and cleaned every surface of my apartment. The attention to detail was astounding. My floorboards have never been cleaner and dust free. And my floors feel cleaner than when I moved in. Super friendly and would definitely recommend and will be hiring again.

My home had been slowly sliding into a sad state. It needed a good deep cleaning and organizing of the clutter. It was attacked with enthusiasm (for lack of a better word) and energy. More was accomplished than I had hoped in the first day, and my home was cleaner than it has been in years. I hope to continue with ongoing, recurrent visits to keep on top of everything and diminish the stress I felt from all the clutter. I would not hesitate to reccommend as what was done was done very thoroughly and lovingly. Bravo! and please keep up the great work!

They are very accommodating and responsive. The quote was reasonable as well. However, we asked for a deep clean and only one cleaner was sent. Our house is on the larger side and definitely needed more than one person to get it all done in the day. The poor lady was here 7+ hours. She hit the major pain spots I needed, but I was disappointed that the other areas were not addressed. Can’t really blame her though.

Employees were friendly and worked great. However, I did notice a difference in quality between each worker. Minor details such as end tables and my kitchen bartop were left unwiped, the mirror in the downstairs bathroom was not cleaned, my entry table was not cleaned, the table in my downstairs living area still had cobwebs and it didn't seem that my upstairs floors were cleaned thoroughly. The bathrooms look great, I did appreciate my ceiling fans being cleaned that was awesome and my floors and stairs have the best shine! Overall I am pleased with the service but i was not pleased that the cleaning took way longer than it has in the past with other companies and only one worker.

Grout Medic regrouted my shower in the master bath and redid the floor in the guest shower. He then regrouted my entire kitchen floor. The young man that did it was very polite and did whatever I asked. I would definately recommend them to anyone who asked. His price was better than others and the service was what I needed. Thanks to you for your good work.

I wasn't there when Kyra came to clean, but my mom said she was very nice and worked very hard. We just bought our house a week before, and it was nice to finally come home to a clean, good-smelling house. We had some major work done the day before Kyra came and it was a HUGE mess, so she was a big help! She was flexible with our schedule, and even stopped by the day before the appointment to meet me and see what she would be cleaning the next day. When it's in my budget to have a consistent cleaner I will definitely consider using Kyra and her team again.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much do you pay for house cleaning?

Hiring a professional house cleaning service is a helpful way to have a healthy home even when your work and personal schedule is packed. House cleaning prices vary based on how many square feet your home is, how dirty your house gets, and how often the cleaning service comes. Some companies charge a set amount — such as 5 cents — per square foot, with a minimum amount, such as $100. The national average cost for house cleaning ranges between $110 and $150. Prices can be lower in areas with a lower cost of living, higher in big cities or affluent regions. You may save money by increasing the frequency of your house cleaning visits. Often a company will charge you less per cleaning when you schedule more cleanings per month. The cost advantage rewards your loyalty, and also reflects the fact that more frequent cleanings make it easier to maintain a high level of cleanliness in your home. A housecleaning service may charge more for the first visit or for one-time services than for recurring cleanings.

How can I get my grout clean?

Dirt, mildew and grime can make your grout lines look downright tragic. If you have the ability, DIY tile and grout cleaning is definitely doable. Your main obstacles are time, project size, availability of the right materials and effort. Your first step in tile and grout cleaning is making sure the surface area is cleaned of basic dirt and buildup and wiped down. Be sure not to use a bleach-based cleaning agent, which could react dangerously with the vinegar used in later steps.

Depending on the delicacy of your tile and grout, it may be wise to start with water and friction before proceeding to a cleaning solution. In the shower you can spray the area while brushing gently, or use a spray bottle filled with warm water on countertops or floors. If water won’t do the trick, try a solution of equal parts warm water and white vinegar, and repeat the gentle brushing motion. This combination should begin to lift dirt and grime from the grout. For additional tile and grout cleaning power, baking soda applied directly to grout lines and sprayed with your water vinegar solution can help suds off sticky grime. If your DIY cleaning solutions aren’t doing the trick, store-bought sprays and pastes may have more cleansing power. Rinse thoroughly after cleaning and enjoy your sparkling clean grout.

Tile and grout cleaning supplies include:

  • Old standard or electric toothbrush
  • Stiff bristle brush
  • Spray bottle
  • White vinegar
  • Commercial grout cleaner

How much does it cost to deep clean a house?

Deep cleaning a house goes beyond the surface level to clear out the dust, grime and gunk that’s collecting on the fan blades, hiding in the blinds, and built up inside the refrigerator drawers. Deep cleaning of a home or apartment costs more than regular house cleaning because it takes more time, effort, and cleaning products. You may choose to have a deep cleaning once or several times a year in addition to your standard cleaning services. You may have a one-time deep cleaning to prepare for company or to clean after a house party. Companies may charge an hourly rate or a price per square foot, or may offer you a flat rate after they have visited your home and estimated work time. The national average house cleaning price is $110-$150, with rates ranging higher for deep-cleaning services. Here are some examples of how a company may calculate their deep-cleaning prices:

  • 10 cents per square foot (compared with 5 cents per square foot for standard house cleaning).
  • $300 for a 3,000-square-foot home.
  • $25 per hour per worker for deep-cleaning services.

How do professionals clean tile and grout?

If you need tile and grout cleaning and don’t have the time or mobility for scrubbing your entire house on your hands and knees, it’s time to turn to the pros. Tile and grout cleaning professionals have industrial-grade machines designed for the sole task of cleaning the porous materials of grout and tile. Typically, a cleaning pro will come out to assess the job and provide you with a quote. Often they charge per square foot (for example, 75 cents per square foot), with higher prices or an hourly rate for areas that will need hand cleaning. The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Once onsite, the pros thoroughly clean the area by wiping or sweeping down and then vacuuming up any dry dirt. Next a chemical tile cleaner is sprayed over the surface, causing dirt to loosen and adhere to the spray; the industry term for this is “suspension.” The pros then clean the floor with professional-strength machines, which often use a combination of steam, brushes and vacuum to loosen, agitate and lift entrenched dirt. Your floor is then rinsed, removing all the spray. Usually a small room can be cleaned in under an hour. Applying a sealant afterward is recommend and will also affect cost.

How much does it cost to clean tile and grout?

The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Pros may charge a flat fee or by the square foot. Rates can vary depending on the type of tile and grout you have (more delicate tiles may mean specialized products or careful handwashing), how dirty your tile and grout are, and what part of the country you are in (regional labor rates and costs to do business affect costs). For example, one floor cleaning company charges 75 cents per square foot for tile and grout cleaning for projects that permit cleaning by machine. Another company may charge $30-$50 per hour for hand-cleaning of tiles. Companies often charge a minimum fee for services to ensure their business expenses are met when they accept a job, no matter how small. In addition, a tile and flooring cleaning professional may charge added fees, such as $25 or more, to move heavy furniture or appliances.
