It is a beautiful quilt. I couldn't be happier. It was a Christmas gift for my daughter and she loved it. I so appreciated the time and care took to place the T shirts in such a perfect pattern. Jacque Brandon

About this pro

I take the time to make sure all designs are centered in each block. I also get creative by incorporating other parts of the shirts without charging extra. This might include a fancy sleeve being used or taking a chest emblem and adding it to the design on the back. My quilting covers the entire quilt, not just around the blocks. This adds durability to the quilt. The batting that is used will not shift or bunch and does not contain any harmful glues or resins. A custom label that documents the person the quilt is made for along with a date and personal message are added free of charge. A hanging sleeve is also added free of charge in case the owner ever wants to hang it on a wall. This is not noticeable when used as a blanket.

    Q & A

    • How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I was a middle school teacher, I had lots of quilts in my classroom. My principal told me she had been saving her children's t-shirts since they were little and wondered if I could make a quilt for each child. I accepted the challenge. Once my co-workers and parents of students saw my work, they wanted quilts too. I have turned this into a part-time source of income to a professional career. I never get tired of creating one of a kind treasures and learning about the people who will receive the quilts.
    • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Always ask to see samples of their work! If not in person, look at photos. Also ask for references.
