We recently hired JLC to build our new deck. We had several groups out to bid on the job, and even had our original contractor ghost us after we got past the planning stage. JLC was nothing but spectacular through the whole process. They were very personable and interested in doing the job from their first trip out. It felt as though they were invested in this project as much as my family was, and that was a great feeling. Very professional, and super responsive to all my questions and requests. The quality of the work is superb, and my family loves the new deck. It wasn't a straight forward job at all, but nothing was too big a task or ask for JLC. They checked all the boxes and have shown to stand by their work 100%. It was very apparent that their #1 priority was doing right by both my family (the customer) and themselves as well. Couldn't ask for a better team to work with, and they will be my first call for all future contracting needs. They should be on your list as well, for sure.

Do not recommend at all. Had to involve a lawyer. Did not complete on time. His team damaged my brand new vanity, and couldn’t install modern wood-look tile or modern Moen faucets. Kept getting water on my brand new laminate floors. He tried to shake me down for more money after damaging my property.
They had 12-year-olds doing the work, and no work was done in parallel… one person coming in for a couple hours a day. Owner was extremely whiny and emotional, throwing email tantrums. I basically had to project manage the job FOR him.
Filed an illegal lien on my property. Had to get a lawyer. He eventually ended up begging me for exactly what I fairly proposed the terrible job was worth (because he was desperate for the money). We all knew that’s exactly how this would end, as he didn’t seem successful enough to float multiple jobs. This is not a professional business. Don’t let the face and name fool you; he is literally just a manual laborer with an LLC.
He is working under a new company name because of bad reviews for the other company. We ended this job the exact same way he described another 1-star project. “I just couldn’t do anything to make him happy.” No, the other reviewer wasn’t putting up with your shoddy work and mismanagement either.

The reason you had to get a lawyer is because you added 9 change orders which extended the job a week, and it became time to pay for the change orders you gave me your price and told me to pay your price or you will see me in court. You told me you loved the job the day before it became time to pay for the work. I did file a lien to get paid but was unaware that since I didn’t make you sign a contract it was invalid therefor making me settle for your price or get sued for the invalid lien. I do own another business with a separate business partner doing outdoor patios and decks in which I have 20 reviews with one of them being a 1 star, the other 19 are bad reviews much like this business.
