- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, I am apart of several dog trainer organizations, I also keep tabs on local rescues, and plan to work with and volunteer with the Search and Rescue out of Clear Lake.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always loved animals, especially dogs. My interest in training dogs professionally stemmed when I was therapeutic riding Instructor and watched my clients who had dogs or service dogs benefit greatly. I have always been a teacher whether it is with kids or animals in one way or another.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Not all dog trainers are certified or have worked in multiple venues. Many people love animals and many can work with their own pets, but working with other's pets can be difficult or trying if you have little to no training. I have several certifications from Animal Behavior College, and certifications for other places of work. I stay connected with updates in education, tools and being apart of dog trainer organizations.
