Introduction: Do you agreed that the best way to learn is when you experience it yourself? I agreed as well. My services stand out because I understand the process of learning a second language. I came to US when I was 27 years old, no speaking English at all,and of course, I couldn't afford classes neither so, I learned by myself. Now, I have been teaching Spanish for the last 14 years to help those who doubt that learning a second language as an adult is impossible. I enjoy everything involved in the process of learning: from the curriculum design to the evaluation and feedback after performance. I love creating materials with authentic resources, to let my students apply their knowledge and to evaluate my results in order to improve my lessons. I am proficiency based instead of traditional learning. It has given me great results so, I think my job is to facilitate and empowered you to develop your skills to accomplish your goals. I follow the guidelines of the American Council Of Teaching Foreign Language because is the best fit to accomplish proficiency. I was a former Industrial Engineer in my home country and I became a Spanish teacher in US because of the language barrier. I fall in love and completed two Masters Degree related to linguistics. First one, in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language, and the second one, in Applied Linguistics. Currently, working on my PhD in Education with the prospect in 3 more years. I have been teaching Spanish all levels (Sp. 1- 3) in High Schools in my full time position and undergraduate or postgraduate at Higher Education (Spanish 101-500's) as a part-time. I have managed the Foreign Language Department for the last 5 years and mentor several new language teachers at my district.

Yanexy is a really good teacher. She has a lot of experience and very good educational background that makes her well qualified. She has an excellent approach, can easily adjust to the speed and interests of her students and is always prepared to change things around. I am enjoying her classes and feel like I am making a really good progress.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
These could be a guideline on prices, but I am always open to deals/ discounts. Spanish learners will vary depending on the needs and the frequency. Spanish level 1, 2 or 3 will have a price of $ 50.00 per hour per individual, but if there is a group of two students minimum I will be $40.00 per hour. More than 3 students taking the class together, then, it will be $ 35 per hour. For students getting ready for college Spanish AP Exam level 4, 5 or more will be charge at $ 60.00 per hour. Spanish GED classes will be $ 30.00 per hour. Groups of 3-4 students could pay 25.00. A group of 5 or more, will be $ 20.00 per hour/ per student. Don't forget, I am willing to work on discounts as well if the frequency or the amount of time per meet is more than 1 hour.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Get to know each other in order to design lesson based on like, dislikes and interests. Also, I like my students to know my story because I think is a way to know that it can be possible. I have done without receiving formal instruction (in classroom, tutor, etc) so, it will be easier for you them. Determine weakness and strengths so we can take advantage of what we already have accomplished.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Currently, enrolled in PhD in Education. Dual Master's Degree Program 2012-2015 Applied Linguistics & Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language. Interactive Apps like flipgrip, Nearpod, GoFormative, Peradeck, etc Ed Camp to incorporate technology and motivate students. Simulation of real life context to help Foreign Language students to be able to apply their learning. Authentic Resources (Podcast, documentaries, series, movies) as a great source in the learning process. Literature, Art, Info graphics, etc. Professional Development provide by the district I work for (Plano ISD) and Dallas Community College where I work as an Adjunct. ACTFL Profienciency Based & Avant Assessments.
