We had Josh as our balloon artist for 2 hours at our carnival themed 75th anniversary for YoungLife. All I can say is "WOW"!! Best balloon artist I have ever seen!! Made crowns, lions, swords! I has so many people say how awesome he was. He was a professional, clean cut young man, personable and on time.

It was my kids birthday party and I hired Selena very last minute. She did an excellent job. It was a rockstar theme party and most of the kids had very unique and very gorgeous designs. My daughter was so happy that she refused to wash her face. Thank you so very much Selena for doing such a fabulous job. You are simply amazing and extremely talented.

SRD was fantastic to work with! I would recommend them to anyone needing DJ services. They arrived early to have everything set up. They had a play list ready of all the songs requested from our guests...people enjoyed this personal touch. And they went over and beyond to help with announcing the winners of our Casino themed party. Everyone had a blast! They are a wonderful team! Can't wait to work with them again.

After interviewing 5-6 party planners for my sons graduation/farewell party. I wanted a memorable experience for my son to remember since he has enlisted to join the United States Marine Corp. I knew Cathy was my party planner I was going to hire the minute I met her, She answered all my questions and had a lot of awesome ideas for Graduation/ USMC / British decorations since the graduation party was in a British restaurant pub. She also suggested on serving heavy appetizers along with her awesome & yummy cocktails she personally mixed herself along with her yummy miniature cupcakes she also suggested from the bakery she highly recommends. As we walked into the pub that evening we were so amazed with the lighting in the room along with the props, decorations, table settings, picture frames & lets not forget the Mirror picture frame booth it all looked amazing. It was a memorable experience for my SON & our guest. I will definitely recommend Cathy with Paperie & Co. and her family crew. I could not have done it without her expertise on the party planning, I would do it all over again!!! Thank You Cathy!!!

Before I got in contact with Yuri, I had literally been told by other wedding planners that we needed to add 10k to our wedding budget. I was feeling totally defeated after that, but reached out to Yuri at the suggestion of my sister. I couldn't be happier that I did. Yuri immediately began texting me and telling me what ideas she had and vendors she had in mind for working within my budget. Her enthusiasm for what she does was so contagious it immediately lifted my spirits back up. She was available whenever I needed her, and kept me on top of deadlines. She also reminded me of all the little things that go into weddings and stuff to make sure I didn't miss a single detail. Also, she had a variety of vendors that she recommended who all did an amazing job for my wedding. She made my very vague ideas about how I wanted my wedding to be a reality. :)

Attending an "out of town" wedding is always a potential for disaster and/or unwanted stress. Not when we recently traveled to the Dallas area to see our niece get married. The planning and attention to detail was obviously well thought out and orchestrated beautifully. Details including hotel choice, maps and time schedules for group dinners for the out of town visitors both prior to the wedding as well as the actual wedding day were so helpful. The venues were perfectly layed out and the fluidity of the day made the hours fly by! All of the "extras" that were at the wedding added to the experience. The choices in food, baked items, photography, DJ and all the services that go along with a big wedding were obviously suited to the Bride and Groom rather than the wedding planner. As guests, we focused on the beautiful experience and everthing around us happened seemlessly. No one ever seemed stressed or led us to believe there was ever a problem or issue coordinating everything. Hats off to a job well done!

I recently had the pleasure of hosting a party catered by Kaleidoscope Kitchen. I have also attended parties that she catered. I am continually amazed at her efficiency and talent! She’s very organized and timely. To be able to juggle so many things at once is a skill that I find to be essential for a caterer to have. She was successful in both catering and decorating events both large and small. The kitchen was clean, the food was delish and the decor was beautiful. (You should definitely order the stuffed mushrooms) Thanks Kaleidoscope Kitchen team!

For every bride who ever said to herself "I don't need a wedding planner" let me tell you "YOU ARE OUT OF YOUR MIND." These ladies should not be called wedding planners they should be called Fairy Godmothers because the work that they do goes above and beyond. First and foremost they are super organized which makes someone like me feel very at ease, there is nothing worse than a scatter-brain planner. They have so much experience and such an amazing positive attitude that planning our wedding was actually a fun experience. The day of the wedding we didn't have to worry about anything, we had an amazing time. Thank you ladies for understanding our vision, for being patient with us and for making our wedding one that our friends have yet to stop talking about. #keepintouch #chicharrones :)

I had to use Creative 1 services many times for various functions including graduation parties, sweet 16 parties, and even a memorial event. The owner, Reshun, brings eloquence, style, and class to each event. She will initially sit down with you and listen to what you want and your expectations. Whatever your budget, you end up receiving an awesome experience in design and creativity that the so called big name planners claim to give. Honestly I keep coming back to her because my expectations are very high and she delivers. I am one who can afford to use the so called big name planners, and was doing that, until I found Creative 1!

Clean and Sanitary are understatements! Ryan Hobbs would never qualify for Kitchen Nightmares nor Restaurant Impossible. (He is too clean, and delivers quality products too customers) I would trust him and recommend him to anyone in need of a professional, honest and educated Chef! I have seen his work and dedication to his customers, and he puts himself into every event whole heartily. If you want a caterer too care as much about your event as you do, then hire Ryan Hobbs. He only puts sauces on the back burner, not his customers and clients. Which is more than most can say about caterers, personal chefs and event planners.

Khrystine, just did an amazing job. And lets get to it, she stayed within my budget. All of us want to make it an epic, over the top, tremendous celebration, party, etc, but financially we just have to keep it realistic. Each time I wanted something for my graduation party, such as an upgrade or just some type of change. When the cost did not match my budget, instead of giving up on the idea or simply saying, "NO! We can't afford that" I was offered a different option. All worked out great to be honest with you guys. I highly recommend KAN EVENTS, LLC. My graduation party was a hit because of them and for our next big family events, celebrations, I plan on using them, AGAIN. One more thing, never be afraid to make changes, if you're not happy with some dates or packages with Kan, they had an open door policy. Khrystine kept telling me, this is your party and it's not every day you celebrate a graduation. If you don't like something or just have questions, let me know and she just made me feel more comfortable Khrystine gave me her number and her email, we would keep constant open communication about the event. Thank you guys so much. FYI- for anyone that is reading this, i did not want to share a picture of myself or my event, I am a private person like that. God bless all. Much love and respect to all.

Zac planned our wedding, which started with our grand idea of friends from all over the world to fly in for a weekend of fun, frivolity and fantastic parties. Happily and gratefully, with his guidance, and a push towards budget awareness and the reality of what this day was truly about - we had a beautiful wedding day and evening with members of our family and closest friends. The night was an intimate, meaningful and elegant evening celebrating our next life adventure! Zac helped us to take our wants and desires, toned them down for a smaller event, and gave us the wedding we wanted with the reality of what we needed. I highly recommend Zac for both intimate and large weddings, as he knows how to listen and keep a couple together along the path to their special day no matter the size. Thank you Zac!

Stefanie helped me plan my baby shower for my daughter and I couldn't of been happier!!! She decorated and set stuff up. She also made sure we did the games I wanted and helped come up with fun prizes that went with each game. Stefanie also made me an awesome diaper cake that fit the theme perfectly. She's even helped with my kids birthday parties before. She is very creative and I will definitely be using her again.

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

      What is a wedding planner?

A wedding planner is a professional service provider whose job it is to organize and execute all the details of a couple’s wedding. A wedding planner can be contracted at any stage in the wedding planning process to help to any degree the couple is willing to pay for. Wedding planning is similar to event planning in that a planning team handles the coordination of multiple wedding elements including catering, venue, guests, entertainment, decor, transportation and more. Anyone who has ever been involved in a wedding can confirm that wedding planning is hard work. Experience brings wisdom when it comes to avoiding or resolving day-of challenges. There is no legal regulatory body that oversees or certifies wedding planning as an industry. Anyone who chooses can call themselves a wedding planner. When looking for a wedding planner, be sure to read reviews, and make smart hiring decisions by asking about licenses and insurance.

How much does it cost for a wedding planner?

Wedding planning is a full-time job — unless you hire a professional to handle the hard work for you. The cost for a wedding planner will depend on the level of service you desire. The least expensive wedding planner option is day-of coordination, then partial service, then full-service.

The national average cost for wedding planning is between $990 and $1,300. Costs are greatly affected by region, with rural or smaller-town wedding planners often far more affordable than planners in higher-cost cities. Here are some examples of the various levels of wedding planning and their potential average costs:

      • Day-of-wedding coordination: $800-$1,700. Day-of services can include the planner finalizing all details, creating a timeline, confirming vendors and overseeing all setup, day-of activities, and cleanup. The couple does all the front-end planning and contracts all the vendors. Time commitment could be about 15-25 hours, depending on pricing.
      • Partial service: $1,500-$3,800. Here the planner works with the couple from the beginning, helping contract vendors, creating a timeline, and overseeing all details of day-of execution. Time commitment could be about 30-60 hours, depending on package and pricing.
      • Full service: $3,500-$8,000 or more. Here the professional handles all wedding and planning details including working on design, securing rentals, getting the venue and vendors, and handling complete execution of the event. Time commitment could be 50-150 hours or more, depending on package and pricing.
      • Consulting: $50-$150 per hour for design, vendor, reception and other wedding planning consultation.
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
