Latest Review: I've been training under Cody for nearly 3 months and have been exceptionally happy with my results. As someone who was already active, fit and healthy, I had very different goals than the standard "I want to lose weight" plan.
Before we began any sort of training, Cody sat down with me to understand my specific goals. Having exercised and lived an active lifestyle since my teens, played college sports, etc. I had found myself in a rut, performing the same, uninspired exercises and routines for years. Upon talking, we identified deficiencies in my functional strength, balance and flexibility, and Cody worked from there when developing an exercise program that was both dynamic and challenging.
Personal training is not transactional in that a client pays money and the problem goes away. Instead, it is a doubling down in investing in oneself - this is where Cody has been most beneficial. He's challenged me to take on exercises I would have never considered or written off previously. He's pushed me to lift heavier or push harder than I thought I was capable of. He's dared me to take try things completely out of my comfort zone. I was presented all these while constantly receiving encouragement and positive affirmations.
Most importantly, Cody has been instrumental in helping me see myself in a different, positive light. Instead of focusing on my failings, he has encouraged me to work with my strengths. Through that process, I've come to a better understanding and acceptance of myself and learned to really appreciate my human machine and all that it can accomplish.
We only have one body for this journey, so it's best we take care of it.
