I joined Austin Simply Fit in October 2012 with the intention of losing a few pounds for my wedding the following March. Meryl Carey came up with a detailed plan to help me meet my goals, which I did, and I was so happy with the results that I continued to go to ASF even post-wedding. Meryl does a great job motivating, teaching proper form, and keeping the program fresh -- even after 9 months there I am constantly doing new exercises. It is a great atmosphere at the gym... not pretentious at all, people of all shapes and sizes, and they even let you pick the music! (Sorry anyone who works out at my time that does not like A$AP Rocky). For any fitness level, ASF is a great place to work out. I recommend Meryl highly, but all of the other trainers I see working there all look to be fully capable and professional.

Chris really knows how to build your metabolism and is constantly updating his knowledge. Some personal trainers will have you do endless hours of cardio while skimping on the calories, not Chris! He will rebuild your body in the healthiest way possible. I am so happy with my progress and finally have the confidence I've always wanted. I began training with Brad at Bodyflex Gym in February of this year and six months later I have definitely seen results. I've substantially cut down on body fat, developed muscles, and lost about 10 pounds. Getting involved with a personal trainer made me nervous because I had never strength trained before and typically my exercise consisted of sports and cardio only. He made it extremely comfortable getting started and took the time to explain to me the purpose of certain lifting techniques and diet regimens. I typically train with him twice a week and he emails me step by step work outs focused on strengthening specific parts of my body for the other three days when I train on my own. He also provides me with a detailed diet using an iPhone app that helps me reach the amount of calories I need to consume in order to achieve weight loss. Don't get me wrong there were definitely days when I wavered and lost motivation but he would always encourage me to get back into it and that falling off can be a typical response. It is difficult to see substantial results in the first few months and my weight hasn't dropped too much but I definitely look much thinner and toned and get compliments often! Training with Brad can be really fun as we joke around in between sets but there have definitely been instances when I've hated him for pushing me so hard, but that's why people sign up for trainers, right!? The one thing I've noticed that definitely sets him apart from other trainers is when he's with you for the hour his entire focus is on his client. I've seen other trainers on their phone or chatting with other people while their client is working out and Brad has never stopped counting or guiding me through my sets. He is incredibly professional and I really appreciate his dedication to his clients. I'm really glad I signed up to train with Brad, if not for my own health and weight loss, but more for my new found healthier lifestyle that I intend on maintaining with his help. I highly recommend his services to anyone trying to improve themselves.
I have been involved in basketball for a little over 10 years now. I have been looking for ways to improve my game since I first began playing. For the past 6 years I have been trying different methods to increase my athleticism in order to further accelerate my game. I tried numerous online jump programs that claimed they could provide amazing results. I spent hundreds of dollars and tons of my time and energy on these so-called top of the line programs. These programs that lasted from 16 weeks and some up to a year long. I saw amazing results in my muscle mass, strength, and power. Even though I was making gains here and there in vertical leap and speed, I felt like I wasnt getting anywhere near the results promised. I have been training for the past two years so that I could try out for an ABA team, with the hopes of one day playing for a professional team. I tried some local professionals who were known for training athletes of all levels in a dynamic yet effective training setting. The training was in a small group and it was like nothing I had ever done before. I felt the classes were great for overall athleticism, but didnt really cater to my basketball needs. The training was kind of expensive and I was forced to discontinue their services after a couple of months. A friend of mine recommended Mike and said that he had worked with the University of Texas basketball team for a number of years and really knew his stuff. After meeting with Mike I could tell by his knowledge, enthusiasm, and attention to detail, that he could give me the training I needed to get to the next level. I was looking to focus my workouts around basketball specific training. I wanted to improve my movement efficiency, agility, court speed, court strength, and explosiveness. Mike gave me a workout that included the type of dynamic training that would transfer over to the basketball court. A combination of power movements, core training, agility and mobility drills, and some on court ball handling drills were all incorporated into my workout. After showing me how to perform each lift and drill properly while allowing me to ask as many questions as needed, I completed the first part of the program in four weeks. I was able to noticeable improvement in my movements on the court, after just a few weeks. I was shocked that I was able to actually notice a difference in improvement after a few weeks, after seeing very few results from years of training. Every four weeks I would meet with Mike to assess my improvement and add new drills in order to provide more advanced drills to accommodate my improvements. I have never worked with a trainer as thorough and detail oriented as Mike. After just a few months of using his custom made program I am significantly more efficient than I have ever been. I was known for having really good athleticism, but now I am freak. Before I started the program I couldnt perform close to my peak level of ability for very long. I had a few bursts in me and then I was too tired to run as fast or jump as high. Now I am able to tap into my max potential more frequently, and for longer durations. Im super excited to know that this is only the beginning. I cant wait to see where I am after a few more months. The training has given me amazing results. To give you an idea of my improvement, I am 61 and I could dunk pretty easily before my training. I just found out yesterday that I could bump my head on the rim! The results surprise me, and I am the one doing the training. I just never know what to expect.

First off, just a little disclaimer, I'm Rachel's husband. Second, guys, don't let her size fool you, she can lift some serious weight and show you how you can too! After years of being in and out of gyms and various personal trainers, Rachel finally found a program that worked for me. After our son was born, I found that I had "let myself go" to the point where I had gone from 190lbs to almost 225lbs and my body fat % put me in the obese category. Keeping up with a one-year-old became an increasing challenge, so we decided it was time for a change. After having various personal trainers who would leave me utterly exhausted and useless after my sessions, Rachel knew I needed to have energy leftover to take care of our son. She designed a vigorous program that almost immediately began to cut down my body fat, add muscle and improve my stability and agility while leaving me feeling energized after our sessions. Additionally, she gave me the knowledge while we were training so I could carry that over into my own workouts outside of our sessions. I really enjoyed the workouts: a combination of body weight exercises, kettlebell workouts and some traditional lifting such as deadlifts and squats. Derrick helped prepare me for my first EVER fitness competition. All of the training was online and it took me about 6 months to get ready. I was so afraid of actually going through with it, but he helped me push my body and gave me the tools I needed to appreciate the process. He guided me and gave me fundamental knowledge that I will forever take with me as I continue to grow. I was stuck at a 31 inch waist for 4 years , I'd lose weight but jump right back to where I was or would end up worse. Post competition I've stayed between 26 to 27 inches--without completely dieting ;). He's helped me build a body not just for the moment, but for as long as I am willing to keep it. I am getting ready for my next competition and even though now I have a coach who is closer to me and can help me with the posing and suit fitting, I still go to Derrick for extra guidance. I still recommend him to those who want to change their bodies and are seeking guidance to help meet goals.
I worked out with Taye for 3 years. This man knows how to tweak your body and everything you need to do from working out and food plan. During my army days with Taye I struggled with my weight sometimes and Taye motivated me to stay on course and lose it buy making me run and go to gym after work house witch saved my carter. This man I call a body shifter. Taye is one of the best trainers out there he has a humble heart and never gives up on you or let you give up on your self. Is attitude is up lifting and instantly because a big brother and to me family. Hes very professional and explains everything in detail and always makes you feel good about your self. I know this man can help anyone els out there and I hate to share him in fear that I lose me best brother but I got to be honest he's the best at what he does and deserves recognition for it. Taye I give a 10 out of 10 just on the fact that he is a humble man who you can instantly trust.

I've been an athlete my entire life and it wasn't until I started to train with Jon that I was able to transform my body and be in the best shape of my life. I've set many goals anywhere from losing weight and body fat, to gaining muscle, increasing my vertical jump, and competing in a physique competition and wining!!, And I was able to accomplish every single one of them with the help of Jon. He truly knows the right balance between exercise and nutrition. Nutrition plays a MAJOR part of living a healthy lifestyle. He's supportive, encouraging, genuine, and will push you to be the best you can be!! He has a wealth of knowledge in multiple areas of fitness to where I don't plan on changing trainers anytime soon!

We needed a flexible and creative trainer to help us work out at home after our 6 month old son went to bed. Keep in mind, we only have a couple of yoga mats, a few sets of dumbbells, and an overly friendly dog. No problem at all for Christopher- he came up with hard hour-long workouts for us to do in our living room, and made sure to walk us through exercise series we could use for workouts throughout the week. He even sent accountability texts to make sure we were doing the workouts between sessions and to check-in on how we were feeling. The workouts were hard, but also super fun- Christopher is very clearly knowledgeable about fitness and physical training, and he also has a great sense of humor. He was flexible with finding times for sessions that worked around our work and baby schedules. And he didn't mind the playful dog jumping across the room while he worked us out. Christopher is fairly new to Austin, which I consider to be a temporary advantage- I'd bet he'll have a very full clientele list in no time. Do yourself a favor and book him now while he still has availability!
After getting to 230 pounds it was finally time to do something about it. I contacted my dear friend who was in the process of getting her Pro Status Card...so I knew she was extremely busy. BUT she made time for me... At first we started a three times a week lifting..then we went to 5 times a day. Then she added 30 minutes cardio after each workout. The last step she added Fasting Cardio in the morning...SHE did all this in baby steps as to not scare me and run me off... Now 11 months later I have gone from size 18 to 10, from XL to Medium/Small and have lost over 55 pounds. She is absolutely amazing and is so patient and caring through every step of the way...She is tough in a manner that YOU WANT TO DO WHAT she says cause she is doing it for your OWN GOOD. Growing up I was always athletic and in shape. Never in a million years would I have EVER thought I would have gained the weight I did and along with the weight came the depression and self loathing. I had 2 kids and it just seemed that the weight just kept adding up and I fell deeper into a hole. I tried going to the gym and "dieting" a few times only to end the in failure and more self loathing and gaining the little weight I lost back plus some. Finally one day it just hit me like a ton of bricks. I couldn't run up the stairs with my then 5 year old and 1 year old. I plateaued twice but he worked through it with me and kept motivating me and changing up my routine. I have ADD and get bored fast. Each and every one his workouts with me were different and exciting. I can never thank you ENOUGH for what you have done for me. You are ABSOLUTELY THE BEST TRAINER IVE EVER MET. He changed my life.
