FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For students not wanting to commit, the price is $30 per half hour lesson. During the summer months, students may sign up for a minimum of six lessons for the rate of $23.50. During the school year, I factor in a studio fee of $40 that will go toward practice incentives, awards and the end of year recital. There are 33 lessons during the school year, plus a recital, and the monthly tuition is $90 per month. I have a parent packet that each family receives along with the school year calendar that includes all of the details.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to meet with individual students before their first formal lesson, if possible, to assess their skill level and goals. From there, we begin with literature best suited to the students' needs. For voice students, I will identify their areas of challenge and select exercises and songs that will help them to overcome these.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA in Music with a concentration in vocal performance from Edinboro University of PA, 1991. I also have training to teach all instruments and have studied privately clarinet and piano in addition to voice. I have taught in public and private schools, as well as home school co-ops. I am a member of TPSMEA which gives private and home school students the opportunity to complete in select choirs. I am a certified teacher in the state of Texas
