Two years ago for the first time in my life, I was facing a circumstance I was not equipped to handle on my own. After a few months of trying to remain strong, clear minded and resilient, I knew I needed help. Through Life Enrichment, I met Carla McGowan. As my trainer, she seemed so compassionate and kind which allowed me the confidence to truly express my hurt, my doubt and my weakness. I continued weekly coaching thereafter which gave me that consistent safe outlet to share and receive in return such wise guidance and much needed encouragement. I have continued meeting with Carla either in person or by phone for a year and a half. This has been the toughest "season" of my life yet I am so thankful for the many lessons learned and the opportunity to connect with Carla. She really has been a rock for me! I am a better me and I love that!

I'm Barbara K. I took Yoga lessons with Charlotte Rose. She is an excellent teacher: structures the class to start gently and really knows the body and what should be warmed up to stretch for peak performance and then a wonderful relaxation. She is caring and can customize for my special needs. I highly recommend her.

This was my first meditation. I held a level of trust with my adviser because I knew her before the experience. I was nervous. I’ve been a politician and so telephone conversations paranoia me. The breathing was the best part. That’s the part that I felt the physical impact of the lesson. It was freeing. I want to do it again and make it a part of my routine personal care.

I've had the pleasure of hearing Terry speak many times over the course of many years, on numerous topics. His message is always on point, because Terry takes the time to research and know his audience. Most impressive to me is Terry's ability to make his points effectively and memorably without ever using distasteful or profane language or commentary. If you want meaningful leadership material delivered positively, decently and with class, Terry Sumerlin should be your speaker.

When I started my very first business Ms. Darden was my first business advisor. She provided our partnership with great, valuable insight. She taught us to go one step at a time and showed us the importance of order. Most importantly she told us the truth. The lessons she provided I am still using today. Thank You Sherry

Vanessa is a compassionate, patient, and overall amazing person who exposed me to yoga in a meaningful way. I cannot stress just how cool and real this young woman is - Besides her character, she knew after one session what sort of yoga style to switch me to and it helped me immensely. She is an expert in all style s of yoga but she doesn't act like a yoga snob. She is also all about the person in front of her - she is so unselfish and so dialed in to what you are doing. She models the positions alongside you and gently corrects - she also begins and ends the sessions with deep things and I feel wiser and stronger because of my times with her. Her little yoga studio under her apartment is perfect for escaping the world - Everything was amazing - I'm telling you: "Forget yoga classes and forget any other private yoga instructor - You will not find a better human, yoga guru, or mentor than Vanessa Zamora."

I have known and worked with Chris Price for over 15 years and he is an outstanding person with great integrity. I knew him first as a client where we collaborated on facilitating one-week leadership training seminars for senior leaders at an international company. Since he went on his own and started Price Leadership Group, we have worked together on several projects. Chris has vast experience in leadership positions, working with team, project work and knows how to work with people. Chris is outstanding and your organization will be better for working with Chris.

    What is a career coach?

If you’re interested in furthering your career and want expert help, a career coach is a smart solution. A career coach is a professional you hire to guide you during a job search or a career transition, or to help you improve and advance in your current position. A career coach analyzes your work situation and learns what your professional goals are. They then create a strategy to help you achieve your targets. Throughout the process they should provide objective feedback and guide you in approaching the process strategically. Here are some of the tools and tasks a career coach may assist you with:

    • Helping you build a strong resume that reflects your work history, potential, and skills
    • Coaching for interviews and strategies for solid answers built around your resume and the target job
    • Defining your career goals
    • Creating a plan for job searching
    • Improving networking strategies and skills
    • Developing strategies for negotiating raises or promotions
    • Assessing why you’re not getting where you want to go
    • Identifying new positions or career opportunities that fit your skills

    Why is career counseling important?

Career counseling can help you discover your career path, help you overcome challenges preventing you from finding happiness in your job, or help you learn more about career opportunities that are available to you. Career counselors are typically counselors who specialize in helping guide people into their best career choices. As professionals, they have typically completed a master’s degree in counseling with a focus on career counseling and bring a nuanced understanding of the emotional blocks that prevent someone from doing what they love or getting ahead in their current position. Here are some of the ways that career counseling can help:

    • Identify your skills and talents and how they correlate to different career paths
    • Educate you about the educational requirements for launching in various careers and what earnings can look like
    • Help you understand the kind of environment you want to work in, and which careers are best suited for that
    • See opportunities to transfer your existing skill set to other career areas
    • Help you identify causes of tension or unhappiness in your current career and how to overcome those difficulties
    • Help you create a game plan for moving forward
    • Provide a safe space for you to understand your feelings about career choices you’re making

How much does it cost to hire a career coach?

A career coach provides one-on-one sessions to help you reach your career goals or overcome any challenges you’re having in your career path. The cost to have career coaching can vary based on factors such as the number of sessions you purchase at one time and the experience and rates of your counselor. Career counselors are typically professionals who have earned at least a master’s degree in their field. Based on their academic background, supplemental certifications they have received, and any postdoctoral work they have done, their rates may vary. Typically career counselors offer reduced rates when you sign on for their services on an ongoing basis. A typical price range for career counseling services (nationally) could be $75-$150 per session. Remember to always ask if the career counselor offers a complimentary introductory session. You want to make sure the relationship will be the right personality and counseling style fit to help launch your confidence and upcoming career changes.

How much does it cost to hire a career coach?

When it’s time to take your career to the next level, it’s time to hire a career coach. The cost to have a career coach help you with your professional journey will vary based on how many sessions you require, the level of coaching you desire, and the rates of the coach as determined by their experience, expertise, education and training. On average, career coaching sessions can range from 60 to 120 minutes, depending on the professional and what your needs are. Career coaches in smaller towns and areas with a lower cost of living will also typically have lower rates than those residing in large metro areas like New York, although most do offer remote coaching. Many coaches also offer a free introductory consultation, which gives you the opportunity to determine if their personality and coaching style are the right fit. It’s helpful to ask the coach about their relevant experience and get references from former clients. Depending on the professional, session rates could range anywhere from under $60 to well over $250 per session. Package discounts are a good way to commit to the relationship as well as get savings on services.

    What is a career counselor?

If you’re feeling lost in your career path, overwhelmed, in need of a job but confused as where to start, or ready for change but uncertain what you want, a career counselor is a good choice for you. A career counselor is typically a licensed professional who has earned a master’s degree in counseling — likely with an emphasis on career counseling. Each state has different licensing requirements for career counselors, so be sure to research before reaching out to a pro.

Due to their academic backgrounds, career counselors often have a more holistic and in-depth approach than a career coach. Career coaches are not regulated by states and also tend to be more business-focused — a good fit for those who know what they want but need help achieving it. On the other hand, a career counselor provides guidance and clarity around some of the more emotional aspects that job hunting and career movement entail. Career counselors meet with you in a series of one-on-one sessions. They assess your personality and learn what drives you. They get a detailed understanding of your work history and your hopes, and often work to help you discover any internal blocks preventing you from going where you want to go. Hiring a career counselor is appropriate at any time in your career, from recent graduate to executive-level management.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
