Jameson and his associate, were very professional they came and assessed our rodent problem, on the initial free quote visit. They both answered all our questions and took us step by step through what was needed, and what their service provided... Based on their thoroughness on the matter, we hired them on the spot... They filled all holes and gaps with Steele wool and caulked along the windows, they even sealed and sanitized our attic leaving the house smelling orangey fresh!... ;) Jamerson assured us if we had anymore problems, to call him and he would come by at no cost to us, he even left me extra glue traps!... :) We are beyond HAPPY with our Experience and the Professionalism of BUG ME NOT Exterminators, and look forward to any future dealings we may have with them. Many Thank Yous to Jamerson & his Associates... The Doroffs.

Jared is quick to respond, efficient, and more than professional. My wife and I bought a new home that has been neglected for a long time so we knew going in we had much to do. Immediately after moving in we found a large ant infestation and had a guy come out to spray. The problem persisted for several months and he continued to just come and spray with no success. Six to eight months later we discovered we had a squirrel problem and I immediately set out to find someone more knowledgeable than the previous exterminator. Long story short we have not heard any more noise from the squirrels in the attic and we have already seen an extreme improvement in the ant problem from the short period of time that he came out. If you're looking for pest control / extermination you've found it. Thanks Jared!

Jason came for pest control treatment on our whole house. We had an ant problem in the bathroom that also needed to be addressed. Jason went above and beyond what any pest control company has ever done for us before in our house. He is friendly and courteous. He took the time to explain what he was doing and followed through on everything. I definitely recommend to anyone in need of pest control.

Matt was great, very friendly, professional, and helpful. While it turned out I didn't have a dead animal in the attic, he explained my odor problem and gave several solutions to fix. He also checked the outside of house and noted a few problems I could fix with insect areas. I would use them again if needed and would also refer them to my friends and neighbors. Thank you Matt. I got rid of that ant issue!

A few months ago we had ants. I called Jessie with 1st line pest control. Jessie was out the same day. Very polite very professional Jessie explained what time of ants they were. He went to work on eliminating the problem. Jessie called back in two days to see how things were I explained we had still had ants. He came straight out went to work again no charge. Two days later called back and I advised we have not seen any ants. And at this time several months have past and no sign of ants or any pest. I highly recommend Jessie and 1st line pest. They are the best

I have been staying at my mother’s house to help her out and found out that she had a nasty ant problem. The neighbors recommended I contact Nature’s Own Services to help us with the problem. I must say, that was the best referral we could have ever received. The worker came out promptly and was so courteous and professional. They treated my mother’s house and the ant problem is now gone. My mother feels so much better, thanks to Nature’s Own Services. I would highly recommend them to my friends.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What do pest control companies do?

Pest control companies handle all aspects of bug, rodent and animal extermination or removal. Pest control professionals visit your home or office to identify the type of pest that is troubling you and offer various treatment plans — complete with clearly outlined costs. Once you and the pest control company have a signed agreement, the pro will begin treatment. Pest treatment can range from the use of spray pesticides and gel bait to live and/or kill traps. There are a wide range of types of pesticides, many of them nontoxic for humans and other small animals. This means you may be able to have your home treated for pests without harming nearby wildlife or your dog and cat. The pest control pro will carry out the treatment plan and, depending on the service agreement, provide follow-up such as emptying traps, inspecting access points, or reapplying pesticide spray if the pests return. Costs will vary based on the type of pest you are having removed and the extent of the infestation. The average national pest control price range is $80-$130. From a minor bedbug event to an entire home termite infestation, pest control companies have got you covered.

How much does it cost to treat a house for termites?

Termites are not only creepy-crawly, they can literally eat your house out from underneath you. Termites feed on damp and dry wood and can chomp through your house at an alarming rate. The national average pest control cost for termite extermination is $240-$400. Treatment costs can be higher for an extensive infestation. Here are some examples of average pest control costs for termites:

  • Liquid treatment of subterranean termites: $3-$4 per linear foot.
    • For $75 per year, a company may offer a maintenance plan that provides inspection of the property and renewal of the warranty.
  • Liquid treatment of subterranean termites: approximately $400 for a 2,000-square-foot home at $3-$5 per linear foot.
    • The price is higher for additional work such as foaming and drilling inside of concrete slabs.
  • Fumigation treatment of drywood termites: $1,200-$1,500 for a 30,000- to 35,000-cubic-foot home
    • Fumigation is measured in cubic feet because it fills the airspace of the home and infiltrates the wood that the termites may be colonizing. The cost of fumigation is affected by the number of levels in the home as well as the square footage.

How much does it cost to get rid of cockroaches?

Cockroaches are not only ugly, they are difficult to get rid of. Quick and resilient, they can be hard to get rid of without professional help once they have inhabited a house. Nationally, the average range for cockroach pest control cost is $80-$130. Extermination professionals typically provide a free estimate to determine the extent of the infestation. They’ll check for the main sources of the bugs, identify bug access and entry points into your home, and determine the best method for elimination. There are a variety of cockroach extermination tools including gel baits and traps, pesticide foggers, desiccants (which dry out the cockroaches), neurotoxins, and other pesticides. Pest control costs can also cover preventive measures like regular spraying and trap maintenance. Some regions of the country are much more prone to cockroach problems than others, so pest control costs may need to be part of your quarterly budget. Cockroaches love dark, humid, and warm areas and water sources, so place traps near your washer and dryer and under your sinks.

How much does it cost to remove a mouse?

If you have a mouse in your house you’re probably quickly researching pest control costs. Mice, although tiny, can transmit diseases and also get into your food and leave unsanitary droppings around your home. If you have seen one mouse in your house, it’s likely that more have taken up residence in your crawl space, attic or basement. The national average pest control cost is $150-$200. Costs can vary depending on whether you need to get rid of a population of living mice or just dispose of a dead mouse (or full traps), how extensive the mouse population is, and where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pest control cost for removing a mouse:

  • $150 for initial trap setup and inspection (and sealing of entry holes).
    • $50 for rodent removal service calls and emptying of traps. This visit can also include identifying and sealing entry points that were not sealed on the first visit.
  • Rodent extermination: $110-$350, depending on how heavy the rodent population is, whether the mouse infestation poses health risks, how many entrances exist and how many rodent bait stations are needed.

How much does it cost to get a pest inspection?

In general there is no cost for a pest inspection. Exterminators typically provide a free property or building inspection and then provide you with a written estimate outlining the necessary treatment and cost. The home visit allows the exterminator to assess the problem and let you know what your pest control cost will be if you contract with their services. You may need a termite inspection for real estate purposes. This will be a verified inspection showing that the house in question is termite-free (often done before a sale). The inspection may cost a flat rate, such as $125-$150, depending on house size.

It’s hard to predict pest control costs sight unseen due to the variety of factors that go into pest treatment. For example, a bedbug problem for one customer may be confined to one room and be easy to access and treat in one visit if the room is clear of clutter and the bedbugs have been caught early. In another home, a bedbug problem may also be confined to one room, but there’s a great deal of clutter, providing more hiding places for the bugs and requiring more spray and labor for the exterminator, as well as many pieces of large furniture in the room that need to sprayed. Depending on the maturity of the infestation, a bedbug problem may require multiple visits to entirely eliminate. This is why many companies provide a free inspection to determine pest control costs and provide you the most accurate quote possible.
