We had Wilson/CRDR come out to install a new faucet on our kitchen sink. He came right on time; he called ahead to change times because of flooding and traffic, but then showed up exactly when he said he would. He was extremely professional, friendly, and took care of things quickly. I didn't choose him because of cost, but if I had, he would have won the bid on cost alone. That said, the quality of his work was well above his cost, and I would gladly invite him back to work on our house again even at twice his price. Outstanding work from a true professional and a gentleman. Thank you sir!

OMG! I have found a real MASTER plumber who is smart, quick and ready to do plumbing at a fair and reasonable price! Demi installed a new sink, faucet and drinking water spigot. Demi picked up all the materials, returned early in the morning and was done quickly with no mess. I have been waiting to find a good plumber for a long time, and he is the one! I had a leak from the sink in the off bathroom. One plumber said I would have to cut a hole in the wall. Demi came over and replaced the black tubing, drained the water heater in the attic and PRESTO! Now the drain is fixed with no damage to the wall. Thank you Demi!

I contacted Geovanny yesterday evening about a leak under my kitchen sink. We discussed what parts I needed and scheduled for him to come the next morning. He came early the next morning because I needed to get to work. Took care of everything quickly and left the area clean. I appreciate him so much, he's now my go to guy for handy work! I plan on having him fix some areas on the outside of the home as well ... I'll review again once that is completed.

Can't say enough good things about this company! I had a master bathroom converted into a standup shower. I also had many other problems that they fixed for me. Pluming, sheetrock, structure beams, and a window needed replacing. I changed the scope of the work after they started and Isaac helped me the whole way. He did not overcharge me when I made additions and his main concern the whole time was that my wife and I were happy with the work. It's hard to find contractors these days that have that level of customer service. I wish I had found them sooner. They also treated my house with the best care that could be expected. They really take the extra time for small things like protecting floors, walls, our things etc. They are professional and knowledgeable which makes them great to guide customers that are unsure of what they want. I can't wait to use them again on some other projects and I would definitely refer this company to even my closest friends and family. I hope this review helps them make connections with other customers who I know will be as happy as we are. Thanks again Isaac!

We are he tting our home ready to be listed & requested a move out cleaning. Theresa & her helper did a great job. She was very communicative, I got a quote right away & we were very content with the top to bottom cleaning of our home. It took a huge load off of our plates as we had plenty of other work to address at the home. I highly recommend them for your personal & business cleaning needs. Brian & Rose

Perfect experience with Tell Projects. Worst experience with one of their contractors. 1st let me say that I give 5 stars to Tell Projects for my sunroom renovation. Everything went perfect from the estimate to the final project. I also wanted my bathroom renovated and decided to use Tell Project's contractor Luis Moreno. He told me he could do the renovation for cheaper than the estimate I was given by Tell Projects (HE LIED), after he started the bathroom renovation EVERYTHING was considered "extra" and this is where the DISASTER started. I had to not only purchase the glass shower door, vanity, and the closet door on my own, but he also asked for more money because he claimed he spent alot of money on the tile "he insisted on picking the tile for the shower". He used kitchen plumbing under my vanity sink (leaked after 1st day), his "father in law" installed my shower faucet backwards ( I now get burned when I turn the water off), AND all of my tools are missing because they kept using my tools and never returned them. I knew this was a disaster when I walked in and saw the person installing the shower door watching a YOUTUBE video on how to install it. In the end, I had to hire a plumber to install the plumbing under my sink, a shower door specialist to re-install the shower door so that it closes properly, and apply silicon for the leaks around the shower door. DO NOT use LUIS MORENO for any projects! He never finished my bathroom and took my money without finishing the job. I have nothing but good words for Tell Projects. But don't use their contractor Luis Moreno. You will be sorry!

Called because my mother was having what she felt was a major water leak under her kitchen sink. Brandon was out at her home the next day and on time which was wonderful. He looked over the issue and explained to us what needed to be done and that he had all the parts on him to make the repairs. With in an hour he had it all repaired and cleaned up. Mom was so happy and felt happy she paid less with Plumb Crazy than she thought she would and would use him again..

John was nothing short of amazing! I called him out to fix the mess I made of my bathroom walls, having taken down wallpaper. I planned on just having him re-float the drywall, so I could put up new wallpaper but his price was good enough I went ahead and had him rehang the paper. It looks terrific and he did a perfect job VERY quickly. I already have plans for him to do more paint projects and next week he’s power-washing for me. He is a very kind and honest man and I had no qualms about having him work at my home while I was at work.

I would recommend JCA to anyone needing a professional plumber. He was punctual, professional and good work quality. Hired him to install a toilet in upstairs bathroom that had a crack in toilet tank. He was very mindful of making sure not to bump walls or cabinets with moving and install of toilet and cleaned up very well during and after job completed. Had trouble with seating of toilet and he had to work several hours over than the typical install of 1 hr to 1 1/2.hr. It took over 4 hrs but he stayed with it. He had to leave but came back next day to complete the job. He even cut into his family time on a Sunday to finish the job.. and after all the difficulty not fault of his own.. he did not even attempt to raise his quoted bid. This plumber stands by his work and word. My deceased father in law was a plumber in San Antonio for over 50 yrs and pride himself on his workmanship and professional word... and would have been proud of JCA.

We had just purchased a house and decided to upgrade the kitchen. We wanted to replace the kitchen sink and fixtures and add a dishwasher. Philip came out and gave an extremely reasonable estimate for the job. I accepted the bid and scheduled the work day. Philip put in a long day to get it all done and did an excellent job. We've had several favorable comments about the changes we had done. Thanks again

Did great work and price was honest and reasonable. They did the tile work for the dinning room floor, bathroom floor, and bathtub surround. In addition, they replaced the bathroom vanity, painted the kitchen cabinets, and applied epoxy to the kitchen's laminate counter. Levi was responsive to my texts and phone calls, and didn't have any problem with the additional requests made once construction started.

After combing through numerous reviews for countless bathroom remodelers, we decided to go with Twelve12 and we’re glad we did. Oliver and Jeremy make a great team. Oliver is the mastermind behind the designs and Jeremy brings it all to life. We had just bought a home and had a move in date that was a month out. I spent time with Oliver explaining to him what I was hoping to achieve for our shower remodel and our daughter’s vanity update and he took my thoughts and brought them to fruition with the tiles and accessories. Initially, we were told that our project would be completed before our move in date. However, as time progressed, it became obvious that wasn’t going to happen. The tiling of our shower took a lot longer than expected due to a contractor being spread too thin. What should have taken 4 days ended up taking 11 days. Despite the time delay, I was very pleased with the way Jeremy handled the situation. He could tell that I was upset and he empathized and both he and Oliver gave us $150 gift card for our inconvenience. There will always be mishaps along the road, but the true tale is the way they’re handled. All said, the end result was beautiful and we are all very happy. You can definitely tell that these guys really love what they do and they take great pride in seeing happy and satisfied customers. They can add us to that list! I would definitely recommend Twelve12!

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How do I plan a bathroom remodeling project?

If you’re stumped on how to plan a bathroom remodeling project, it pays to hire a designer. This is especially important if you’re changing your bathroom layout in any way. Designers create contractor-friendly drawings indicating exactly where each tile and fixture will be installed, down to the light switches. This investment might cost you $300-$500 but save you significant frustration and miscommunication, while ensuring you get precisely what you want.

If you’re going to do your own design, planning a bathroom remodeling project means being organized and planning ahead. Create a general outline of what you want and the budget you have. Identify the specific fixtures, tiles, paint and vanity you prefer. Get all this organized before requesting quotes from two to three reputable general contractors. Once you find the right pro, get a written contract outlining scope of work, materials that will be used, timeframe and payment schedule. Communicate clearly about when to order your materials so they are ready and waiting by the time the contractor gets the permits. Your job from here is to communicate clearly, pay the contractor as the work progresses, and enjoy your remodel when it’s done.

Where should I start when remodeling a bathroom?

Bathroom remodeling doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Before starting a bathroom remodel it’s crucial to know what you want and have a clear understanding of your maximum budget. If you’d love all marble fixtures but have $3,000 total, you will have to compromise. Being realistic about materials and money before you even contact a contractor will have you on the road to success. Here are some simple steps to follow in the planning stages of bathroom remodeling:

  • List your remodeling priorities in order of importance (e.g., 1. New shower head, 2. Replace flooring, 3. Install recessed lighting, etc.).
  • Calculate what you can realistically afford to spend on your bathroom remodel. Identify an “all in” price — meaning the absolute maximum you’re willing to pay, as well as what you’d prefer to spend.
  • Gather ideas from Pinterest about colors and finishes.
  • Research the costs of the materials and finishes you want and begin making choices about what is and isn’t possible to fit into your budget (once labor is included). If you’d like to stay under $10,000 total, but really love a $2,000 tub, plan to downgrade in other areas.
  • Request quotes from at least three reputable general contractors, share your vision and ideal materials, and work together from there.

How long should a bathroom remodel take?

With proper planning and a good general contractor, your bathroom remodeling project doesn’t have to take forever. The construction phase of the project will always vary based on your scope of work, the square footage and the condition of your bathroom under the surface layer. Inevitably an 80-square-foot master bathroom with major changes will take longer than a 25-square-foot guest bath undergoing a minor renovation. For a smaller bathroom, a facelift — the industry term for sprucing up the surface layer (such as paint, vanity, tiles or light fixtures) but keeping the existing footprint of the space — may take five to eight working days, as long as there are no surprises like mold waiting when the old vanity comes out. A more complex bathroom remodel that revamps the shower area (customizing the plumbing, installing tile and changing the shower door), updates the flooring and cabinetry, and adds new paint and new lighting could take anywhere from one week to three weeks. A full bathroom remodel that guts the room, changing the footprint and moving the electrical wiring and plumbing lines, could take four to eight weeks or more. To keep your bathroom remodel on schedule, have your materials ordered and waiting, and don’t make any change orders once construction begins. Planning is key to keeping a bathroom remodel on schedule.

How do I remodel my bathroom?

Bathroom remodeling is made up of three general phases. The first phase is the planning and permitting phase, in which you determine exactly what you want, what materials and finishes will be used, and what the end product will look like. If you’re competent with design you can handle the planning yourself, or you may hire an interior designer to guide you. During this phase you’ll also hire a general contractor who can help execute your remodel vision, coordinating and overseeing all the subcontractors required to do the bathroom remodeling (plumbers, flooring pros, etc.). When your plan is finalized, your contractor should obtain permits for the work you want done. During this time you’ll work together to order all the materials so they’ll be ready and waiting when it’s time to start construction.

The second phase is construction. Bathroom remodeling typically starts with demolition, removing the old floors, shower and vanity to make way for the new. Delays in delivery of materials, or changing your mind and ordering different materials halfway into the project, will mean that construction has to pause until the new materials arrive. Each subcontractor is dependent on the next to do their work, and the general contractor should keep things moving along at the proper timeline, ensuring that the right materials are available and dealing promptly with any unexpected repairs, such as damage discovered behind the walls or under the floor. The general contractor will also coordinate inspections from the necessary officials if you’ve moved load-bearing walls or done electrical or plumbing work. After construction is complete, the final phase of bathroom remodeling is addressing your punch list. These are all the items that need to be corrected before final payment is handed over to the contractor.

How much does it cost to remodel a bathroom?

Nationally, the average cost of bathroom remodeling is $14,000. Bathroom remodels can vary widely, from standard makeovers to luxurious master bathroom revamps. The factors that affect your bathroom remodeling cost are the finishes you choose (marble tiles can cost 20 times as much as standard subway tiles), the square footage of the project, regional labor rates in your area and the scope of work. Changing the layout or size of the bathroom will also raise costs. Moving electrical wiring and plumbing lines will also dramatically increase costs, as you’ll need to hire plumbers and electricians to handle the work. What’s happening behind your walls and under your floor will also affect bathroom remodeling cost: Rot, damage or mold can lead to additional work and charges. Overall, bathroom remodeling may offer great return on investment and also improve your daily life. Here are some examples of average bathroom remodeling costs:

  • 6-foot by 6-foot bathroom remodel: $3,500, including labor and materials.
  • Standard renovation: $6,500-$10,000. Price includes labor and materials the customer has purchased. Labor may include taking out the shower and shower pan, installing new shower pan and shower, and installing new door, new vanity, new mirror, new bathroom fan, and all new fixtures.
    • Price variation depends on the quality of the finishes.
  • 10-foot by 6-foot bathroom remodel: $7,200, including labor and materials.
  • Mid-range renovation: $12,000-$15,000. Price includes labor and materials the customer has purchased.
  • Upscale renovation: $35,000 and up. Price includes labor and materials. Items might include digital displays for fixtures, multiple shower heads and custom showers.
