Right from my first contact with Daniel I knew I had made the right choice. He did not disappoint! His pricing was perfect and he was prompt and courteous. His technician worked on our ceramic tile floors for 4 hours and his attention to detail was outstanding! We were highly pleased with the results and would recommend them to anyone!

Mr. Stubblefield did an excellent job cleaning my carpet, and it looks new. My husband and I are very pleased with the outcome and have already scheduled an appointment with him to come back out and clean the grout on my tile floors. We highly recommend Mr. Stubblefield.

Prompt timing, removed spots very well. A couple of extra wet spots & residue on tile floor from hoses that prevented a five star rating. Would use again.

High quality, thorough, efficient work! My floors look amazing! The initial reservation was a day of steam cleaning my upstairs carpets & downstairs tile and grout. I can not believe that they were able to get all of those post Hurricane black marks out of my carpet and the residual dry wall powder out of the grout. I was very impressed. Then For a little extra money, he came back a couple days later and sealed my tile and grout! Amazing that my floors looked so bad and dull in the first place. Now they Shine and look fabulous! Very affordable to have all this done. I have already given there name and number out. Will definitely call them back again!

Cleaner was extremely friendly, arrived at a reasonable time. Initially I only asked for carpet cleaning, but when I asked about cleaning my kitchen tile grout, he was more than willing at an extremely reasonable price. Service was timely. Carpet and kitchen look vastly improved. Cleaner even notified us drying times for all areas of the apartment. Great attitude and great results for a fantastic price.

There is always room for improvement, so no 5 stars. Freddy did a good job cleaning our upholstered furniture and our tile floors. He was courteous and arrived on time. I have already recommended Busy Bee to one other person.

I am thrilled to give such an outstanding review for Tom and the service provided by Magic Wand. Not only did he arrive on time as requested but the service he performed by steam cleaning my entire upstairs carpet was exceptional. Super professional and I even had him steam clean my very nice area rug in my living room. Keep in mind my upstairs needed a deep cleaning due to me having 3 pets & I was astonished how clean he got my carpet. Great Job Tom. Will definitely refer Magic Wand to my friends as well as use your service again. I meant to also mention everything was done within just over an hour.

It was a simple floor cleaning. It was a new construction vinyl tile floor. The contractor warned about using high water or cleaning products. Jose was very knowledgable and personable. Also his pricing was more than competitive. I will reuse and recommended his services.

My wife and I, have had two occasions to work with Gary Baker. The first was after Hurricane Ike when we had damage to our roof. Mr. Baker had our entire roof removed and replaced in a day and a half. The second was after a kitchen fire which damage our cabinets, countertops and floor. After the fire remediation company had cleaned our home, Mr. Baker had our cabinets redone, new countertops throughout including a ceramic tile bar and new flooring competed within a week. Mr. Baker also went out of his way to meet with the insurance adjuster and work with them directly, to allow us to focus on putting our lives back together. Both my wife and I are very pleased with the work Mr. Baker has completed for us and if ever we need work done again, we would not hesitate to contact him.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How can I get my grout clean?

Dirt, mildew and grime can make your grout lines look downright tragic. If you have the ability, DIY tile and grout cleaning is definitely doable. Your main obstacles are time, project size, availability of the right materials and effort. Your first step in tile and grout cleaning is making sure the surface area is cleaned of basic dirt and buildup and wiped down. Be sure not to use a bleach-based cleaning agent, which could react dangerously with the vinegar used in later steps.

Depending on the delicacy of your tile and grout, it may be wise to start with water and friction before proceeding to a cleaning solution. In the shower you can spray the area while brushing gently, or use a spray bottle filled with warm water on countertops or floors. If water won’t do the trick, try a solution of equal parts warm water and white vinegar, and repeat the gentle brushing motion. This combination should begin to lift dirt and grime from the grout. For additional tile and grout cleaning power, baking soda applied directly to grout lines and sprayed with your water vinegar solution can help suds off sticky grime. If your DIY cleaning solutions aren’t doing the trick, store-bought sprays and pastes may have more cleansing power. Rinse thoroughly after cleaning and enjoy your sparkling clean grout.

Tile and grout cleaning supplies include:

  • Old standard or electric toothbrush
  • Stiff bristle brush
  • Spray bottle
  • White vinegar
  • Commercial grout cleaner

How much does it cost to clean tile and grout?

The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Pros may charge a flat fee or by the square foot. Rates can vary depending on the type of tile and grout you have (more delicate tiles may mean specialized products or careful handwashing), how dirty your tile and grout are, and what part of the country you are in (regional labor rates and costs to do business affect costs). For example, one floor cleaning company charges 75 cents per square foot for tile and grout cleaning for projects that permit cleaning by machine. Another company may charge $30-$50 per hour for hand-cleaning of tiles. Companies often charge a minimum fee for services to ensure their business expenses are met when they accept a job, no matter how small. In addition, a tile and flooring cleaning professional may charge added fees, such as $25 or more, to move heavy furniture or appliances.

How do professionals clean tile and grout?

If you need tile and grout cleaning and don’t have the time or mobility for scrubbing your entire house on your hands and knees, it’s time to turn to the pros. Tile and grout cleaning professionals have industrial-grade machines designed for the sole task of cleaning the porous materials of grout and tile. Typically, a cleaning pro will come out to assess the job and provide you with a quote. Often they charge per square foot (for example, 75 cents per square foot), with higher prices or an hourly rate for areas that will need hand cleaning. The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Once onsite, the pros thoroughly clean the area by wiping or sweeping down and then vacuuming up any dry dirt. Next a chemical tile cleaner is sprayed over the surface, causing dirt to loosen and adhere to the spray; the industry term for this is “suspension.” The pros then clean the floor with professional-strength machines, which often use a combination of steam, brushes and vacuum to loosen, agitate and lift entrenched dirt. Your floor is then rinsed, removing all the spray. Usually a small room can be cleaned in under an hour. Applying a sealant afterward is recommend and will also affect cost.
