Gene contacted me immediately. He diagnosed the problem in both computers,fixed one and found the part for the other. He patiently worked with me to fix it remotely using photos,FaceTime and team viewer. It was an enjoyable learning experience. I plan to contact Gene for all of my computer repairs and text work.

Gene was awesome to say the least! I am only allow 3 items to say what I like about working with Gene, but I going to give more here. lol. He was very professional, knowledgeable, responsive, quality of work was stupendous, very punctual, and the value on point. He was so patient with me when we tried to work on the problem remotely. When that didn't work, he gave me options on what we could do to fix the problem. He picked up my laptop, fixed it, and delivered it the same day! I was super happy to have my laptop up and running because I use it for classes. He will remain my IT go-to guy because I trust his work. I, definitely, recommend Gene's Computer Repair to anyone.

Being technically challenged, I had no idea what was wrong with my computer; only the situation needed to be corrected. Gene assured me he would resolve the problems which he did. He was very patient, personable and even explained how to pay him using Zelle. FANTASTIC !!!

I can’t say enough about Gene in this space so I’m gonna try. Was trying to update a old work computer w Linux and he was able to help me download and upload the software into my current desk top and give me proper recommendations because my work computer was not gonna work. He made it easy to understand as I’m hard of hearing and was very patient with me while we tried to work the kinks out. I will definitely reach out to him for anything computer wise!   • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    I charge $25 flat just to take a look. If I can't fix it that's all I will charge. If I fix the issue in less than 2 hours it's $75-$80 total. If it's longer this can be $100-$150 total depending on how many hours are spent. Flat charges, not hourly. And if you're on a tight budget we can discuss what works for you.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    Ask how I can help, what they've already tried and what's important to them. Finally, based on that I think of a plan right away to address the situation based on the criteria they provide. I provide time estimates and cost if and when they ask but I find that price should come last. People need to build a trust with a person they just met over an app and on the phone. I don't think anyone wants to feel like they're being cheated and the person on the other line is just trying to charge without proving themselves first.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    I am a business major from my college days but my first job out of school (years ago) was system administration for a bank and I've been doing that for the past 10-11 years. I am self taught - but computers are a passion so the more I do - the easier the learning comes. I am IBM AIX certified as well as an AWS Solutions Architect Associate level. But I am fully proficient with Windows, Mac OS and Linux.
