I am a beginner cook. Honestly, I'm a pre-beginner. But I decided I wanted to learn how to make baked potato soup. Kathryn sent me the recipe ahead of time with a list of things I'd need so that I could be totally ready for my online class. I used my phone on a small tripod and I was able to see and hear just fine. She taught me how to hold a chef's knife for maximum control. She showed me how to dice celery and onions as well as gave me some tips to keep my cutting board steady - she was very safety conscious. Everything was going well until it was time to puree the potatoes. My blender was a little small and I started to panic but Kathryn was able to tell me how to solve the problem on the fly. When the class was over I had a big pot of baked potato soup that even my picky son liked. I can't wait to make it again and Kathryn gave me some ideas to change the recipe. At one point my entire family was watching me cook (because I never do it) and now my son wants to take a class. Can't wait to do it again!

She guided me through my first loaf of sourdough bread via text messaging. Immediately had answers for all of the questions that I had and was able to explain everything very clearly the first time.

We learned a lot and had a good time doing it. Kathryn does a great job. Highly recommended!

FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Cooking takes time, so depending on the job, I charge an hourly fee or by the project.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I'll ask questions to figure out what you're interested in accomplishing. Knife skills? New recipes? Freezer meals? Sourdough? Want your kids to learn how to cook? You name it. Once we identify your goals, I'll suggest a plan to help you succeed!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I made my first batch of Toll House Cookies before I was 10 years old and I've been cooking ever since. While cooking has never been my profession, I've taken lots of classes over the years, in the US as well as Paris and Tuscany. Currently, I'm obsessed with turning out perfectly cooked pork tenderloins with my sous-vide setup.
