Blast did a great job. We had him add a wall to close off our gameroom and extend the ceiling leading up to the wall to match. He did exactly what we wanted and was especially attentive to making sure everything matched (door, door knob, trim, texture, rounded wall corner) with our house so that it didn't look like an add on. He also gave us good suggestions that we were glad he suggested such as the placement of the door and the size of the door. Blast's prices were very reasonable and fair and he was very reliable. He showed up when he said he would and was very responsive to text messages and phone calls. We are already planning to have Blast do some other projects at our house in the near future.

Issac did several things for us. He painted several interior rooms, hung a 70" flat screen tv and installed coded deadbolts on our exterior doors. Our family room is open to the second story and the walls are tall, he did a great job! The TV mount went into a brick and mortar fireplace which made it more difficult but he centered it perfectly and anchored it into the masonry. Great personality and a pleasure to have in your home!

More than likely, Guillaume Gourault will be over-qualified for almost ANY household repair job you can come up with. He is a Civil Engineer in his native France, and he loves to problem solve and repair things. We brought him to repair 2 pocket doors. He had to re-build 1 part that was no longer available, and for the first time in 3 years, both doors work great! He also lubed and performed preventive maintenance on 6 other doors, at no additional cost, and adjusted our front door handle mechanism. He arrives on time (or slightly before) and is delightful to work with. We will bring him back for other projects in the future.

Adan responded to my custom request for help removing the glass panel in my oven so it could be cleaned. I'd seen some videos on YouTube and it looked like a fairly complicated process. Not to mention what a pain it would be if the glass broke. Adan and I traded messages about the project. I was satisfied that he had the skills and knowledge to help. He was able to come by the same day. The project wasn't as difficult as I feared but I'm really glad that I hired Adan to do it. The oven door is cleaned and reinstalled. Looks great! Thank you!

Before I start this review, I will be giving a truthful experience with Working with General Doors. This gentleman was very professional, courteous and made sure that the lines of communication was open at all times. I was coming from out of state to my property in Katy, Tx. Just a very kind man. So my issue was that I needed to get in my Rental Property by the garage but during the course of me mailing it to my Real Estate Agent it was stolen. I called General Doors and told him my issue. The plan was that we were going to break the garage door key-slot and then he was going to install another one. He quoted me $95 for this job. He met me at my house and looked at the garage door and power-drilled it in hopes of it opening or at least getting another option to get inside of the garage. This was unsuccessful so we walked around the house and we came to my back patio door. What he did was drill the lock on my patio door and it actually WORKED!! It took maybe 3-4 minutes but I was very grateful. However, he charged me $75 to do this. I did not think that this was a fair price for drilling my patio keylock but nevertheless I was just happy to get in my home. This is my experience with this gentlemen. I would use him again however I would negotiate a better and fair price next time.

Brandon checked out my hot water heater and was clear about what might be the reason(s) for my pilot light not igniting. He replaced fittings which needed to be done and all in a reasonable time frame and decent pricing. Then he fixed new shower head and bath tub knobs which were installed improperly. Now my shower no longer leaks and I can turn the knobs off and on!

HD was reliable and efficient. Took care of a handful off add jobs such as changing lightbulbs two stories high in the backyard , fixing some door jams and door catches, changing out the sliding hardware on drawers that were falling off the rollers... solid work at somewhat reasonable price. I will likely use him again if/when needed.

My daughter and I hired Realtá Remodeling in November 2015 to make repairs to the interior and exterior of our home as we are preparing to sell it and we are so satisfied and impressed with Osman and his team that we are now having second thoughts about selling our home! The remodeling of our home was done absolutely perfectly and on time, everything that was listed in the contract was finished and Osman even made some touches to part of the house that were not included in the contract, which we were grateful for. We had work done to the majority of our house: Master restroom/bedroom (the shower was demolished, a new shower with tile was built, damaged sheetrock was repaired along with plumbing issues in the shower drain, countertops were refinished, leaks under the sinks were fixed, a hole in the bedroom wall was patched, the walls and ceiling were primed and painted and new carpet trim was installed.) Guest restroom (the bathtub was refinished, cabinets were replaced and new wood was installed under the sink where there was a leak, rotten baseboards were replaced.) Living/office/family/laundry room (the walls in each room were primed and painted, ceiling texture was perfectly matched, the wood frame of the windows were sanded, caulked, primed and painted, doors were replaced and painted, holes were patched.) Kitchen (countertops were refinished, new sink was installed, the walls and ceiling were primed and painted.) Exterior (rotten wood was replaced, metal was replaced and welded, both garage doors were replaced, rotten backyard siding was fixed, painting and priming were also done). We are so happy with Realtá Remodeling and Osman that we have referred him to numerous friends and family, my daughter and I highly recommend Realtá Remodeling if you are looking for an honest contractor who works hard to make you happy and follows through with the contract. Thank you Realtá Remodeling, Osman and your staff for making our remodeling process an easy one!

I just wanted to thank Chris the guy that did the installation for my new door locks. Chris was very prompt and professional he gave me advise on what would be the best solution for my problem. I liked the fact that he even made small talk while he worked just giving me a little background about himself, he felt that he probably was over doing it, but to be honest that made me feel even more secure with the work that was being done. I also want to thank Kavitha for responding in a timely manner and also answering any questions that I had. This has been one of the best locksmith that I have experienced!' Their hours are convenient and they also did my job on a Sunday they had tools on hand and last but not least they also had the credit card option which was a huge plus since I rarely keep cash on hand. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND GIVING THE FLYING LOCKSMITH A TRY THEIR PRICES ARE GREAT AS WELL... THANKS AGAIN CHRIS AND KAVITHA I WILL BE USING YOU GUYS AGAIN!!!👍🏾

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How does a locksmith open a locked door?

Locksmiths use specialized tools and techniques to open your door in the case of lockouts or lost keys. Trained locksmiths can pick your door lock with lock-picking tools such as a rake, a tension wrench, a half diamond or a hook. They may use a technique called bumping, which will work on pin tumbler locks, or as a last resort they may use a drill to remove your existing lock. The national average locksmith price ranges between $70 and $100. A locksmith can also replace your current lock system, re-key your locks if you have lost your keys, repair a broken lock, install a deadlock and more. Locksmiths not only help with front doors, they can help if you are locked out of your car, locked out of your mailbox, locked out of your shed … you name it. There may be an additional charge for emergency after-hours locksmith services. Check out our tips for smart hiring on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to have a deadbolt lock installed?

Installing a new deadbolt lock can improve your home security, especially if you think your current lock system has been compromised or there are unaccounted-for copies of your house keys in circulation. A professional locksmith can install a new deadbolt for you in a matter of hours. The national average locksmith price ranges from $70 to $100. Locksmith prices for installing deadbolts may be higher based on whether the professional provides the lock or you have it on hand, how many components the locking system includes, and how long the installation takes. The cost to purchase a lock yourself from a big-box store can range from approximately $70 to $225 or more, depending on quality and materials. Higher-security locks often take longer and therefore cost more to install.

How much does it cost to make a new key for a car?

Locksmiths’ prices for making new car keys can vary depending on the make of your car as well as the time of day and location. The national average locksmith price ranges from $70 to $100, but duplicating a key may cost as little as $30, while extraction a key stuck in the ignition, cutting a new key and programming the fob can cost much more.

You might need a new car key if you have lost your key, the key broke in the ignition, the key is bent or damaged, or you just want a duplicate in case of emergency. You can request a duplicate of a key you have on hand, or you can have a new key made or cut if you have lost your original car keys. If you need to replace lost keys, you’ll need to first provide proof that you are the owner of the car along with the vehicle identification number (VIN). If you’re just locked out of your car but don’t need a key made, a locksmith may charge $65 to get you back in. Locksmith car key services are often far more affordable than dealership prices for new keys.

How much does it cost for a car locksmith?

There are several reasons you may need a car locksmith. You may be locked out of your car (either with the keys inside or with no keys at all), you may have lost your car keys and need a new key, or you may want to make a duplicate car key. The national average locksmith price ranges from $70 to $100. Getting locked out of your car can be scary and overwhelming — especially if it’s cold and dark out. Fortunately, professional locksmiths provide round-the-clock assistance to help people in these circumstances.

Car lockouts are one of the main reasons people need a locksmith. Your locksmith’s price can depend on the type of car you have, the time of day (or night) it is, and where you are located. Locksmith pricing may be based on a flat rate, or pricing may be quoted to you after the locksmith determines the circumstances. For example, a flat rate for a car lockout could be $65 for standard vehicles. That price could be higher for after-hours or long-distance service, or service during extreme weather. If you have entirely lost your car keys, a locksmith can make you a new car key, but first they must verify that you are the owner of the car. Locksmiths can even program new car key fobs for you — often at a lower price than a dealership.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
