FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As a Texas Registered Interior Designer (RID), I am required to take 12 hours of CEUs each year. All courses must focus on health, safety and welfare and at least one hour must be barrier-free design and one hour must be sustainable design.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Every project has a different scope - some just need a furniture layout or paint selections and others are building new houses or offices. CLR can do as little or as much as the client desires. Typical projects include space planning, tile/cabinet design, furniture selection/purchasing, lighting selection/purchasing, consultation, project manager/coordinator, etc.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Be clear with your expectations regarding project and personal interaction with designer, builder and other trades people. I.e. Can you meet during designer's business hours? If not, is there flexibility? Also, discuss in depth with designer what you would like to get for your budget. Then he/she can help you understand the level that you can get for your dollar. For instance, if you were hoping to completely remodel a kitchen with new cabinets, flooring, appliances, counter/splash, lighting, pantry, etc but only had a $10,000 budget, the designer can discuss with you how far that money will go and if you need to adjust it.
