FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My minimum charge is $350 which covers up to the first hour; additional hours are $100 per hour, and, if outdoors, a fee of at least $125. Outdoor weddings are available only between mid-October and April. My fees are standard and sometimes vary depending on your needs: your travel requirement, indoor or outdoor, special music requests, etc. I'm happy to discuss fees with you at my number, as provided on this site by Thumbtack.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to find out exactly what you're looking for and if I think I am a good fit I let you know, tell you what I'll charge, share ideas with you, etc. I have a contract, ask for a deposit to hold the date, and ask for the balance payment one week before the event. I am always happy to work with clients who appreciate the security of a strong business agreement. For wedding ceremonies, I am available for a wedding consultation at my studio to assist you in selecting ceremony music tailored to your tastes from my suggestions. This ensures an elegant experience of sight and sound. For wedding ceremonies, I am available to begin playing within 30 minutes of the official ceremony time so that I can begin as guests are seated.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelors and a masters degree in music from University of Washington in Seattle and from University of Texas at Austin. I've also taught Music Appreciation, Music Fundamentals, American Music, Programming Logic, and Business Communications at the college level since 2002. I've studied harp and piano at the university and college levels and I also teach harp and piano lessons.
