About this pro
Bill talked a big game but unfortunately his work did not live up to it. He did do a good job on the drywall patches I needed. However his finishing work on the trim was abysmal. Nail holes were not caulked and filled in, and it needed to still be painted. He claimed he missed it because he was not wearing his glasses. He told me he could fix the warped vinyl floors that had water damage...he did not. He also forgot to finish certain things we agreed upon. Unfortunately I paid him before I verified the work was done...my mistake. My advice to you if you use Bill would be to verify ALL the work has been completed to your satisfaction before submitting payment. We also had an issue with him showing up on the time he specified. He also insisted on driving to Houston Friday night to collect the check, despite me offering to mail or email it to him. This was after he told me could take card when I hired him, then when it was time for payment, told me there would be an additional 5% fee. I was unfortunately hours late to San Antonio because I had to wait for him Friday night to give him the check.Aug 6, 2018VerifiedBill B.'s reply
I have seversl people I use on my jobs. The guy I used on Craigs job was my flooring guy. We went thru two boxes of flooring material to do his flooring repairs. Since I subbed the work out I made the mistake of looking over the work with my glasses in my truck. I missed the fact that Albert missed caulking the nail holes on the trim he replaced. After a day or two Craig brought this to my attention. His tennant wanted to be there for me to come back and I waited for confirmation before going back out. All the work Craig was charged for was completed. I gladly went back when it was pointed out I missed something. As as settling up with Craig, I told him I would have to check with my son as to the details on accepting his credit card. When he found out their was a charge of 4% he insisted on doing some kind of e mail for a check which he insisted his bank Chase, would accept. His bank said they did not know what I was talking about so I had to insist on a check. I had to drive 160 miles round trip to get paid. While it might have made him late for his date in San Antonio by this time Craig was being rude and I was tired of dealing with an immature amature so I insisted on getting paid asap. I am glad I am finished dealing with this person. You cant please everybody.
We are very satisfied with the service we received! Bill was professional, cleaned up each day, and showed up at the agreed upon time daily. We certainly will use him again in the future. I highly recommend him for paint jobs! Look at my beautiful dining room!👍🏼Oct 4, 2016Verified
He did not show up at the appointed time on a Thursday and never called. I called to check and we rescheduled for a Monday and he then showed up a few days later unannounced on a Saturday and he was very confusing.Jul 22, 2018VerifiedBill B.'s reply
I have been blessed with a large volume of customers. I apparently got this person and another mixed up. I went to the wrong house when this person was scheduled. When we rescheduled by text I got confused and went to this lady's house on Saturday instead of Monday. When I rang the doorbell and she answered she got angry at me for being there at the wrong time. She slammed the door, and just as I got back in my van to leave she let her dogs out to chase me off.(I presume) She then sent me a text warning me not to ever contact her or come back to her house again as she has contacted "her friends in the sheriffs office" and they have my description and license plate. Fact is this person is just plain mean. She sicked her dogs on me! I am 60 year old handicapped person and am just trying to earn a living. I drove over 50 miles to get to her house to give her a bid. Her house didn't even need a paint job and I suspect she was trying to do a scam (Their are scammers out there who find a house for sale and try to manipulate others into a scam. ) In any event I am glad I will not be doing any work for this person. Their is plenty of honest work out there and good people to work for to worry about this lady who has issues.
He painted the entire interior of my home as well as repaired drywall when needed. It is amazing how a new coat of paint will change the appearance. He also contracted out fixing the wood floors and part of the fence for the backyard.May 1, 2018Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I bid each job separately. The more work a customer wants done the bigger discount I give based on volume. I also give 10% discounts on labor to first responders, educators and persons on a fixed income. I ask for cash for any work under $300.00 or work completed on a weekend. I can take credit cards but their is a 5% charge for processing. I only accept checks drawn on a locale bank I can go and cash the check with.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?New customers are always concerned when reaching out to a contractor they don't know. The first thing I do is get a clear picture of what their remodel project involves. I want to make sure we can do what it is they want done professionally, within industry standards and practices. Secondly, we work to answer all questions and ease their concerns about our ability to handle their project. Then I make sure the customer has a clear understanding of the costs involved and a reasonable schedule for completion. Finally, we evaluate the information and determine whether we can perform the scope of the project to everyone's satisfaction.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work? After 40 years in the remodeling business I have earned my stripes with hands on practical experience while successfully performing the task at hand and adding the knowledge to my skills.I have been there - done that with every aspect of remodel work their is. I know how to do it right.
