Juan arrived on time (early actually) and installed an over the range microwave and dishwasher. Dishwasher didn't come with a needed part so Juan even ran to lowes to pick up the needed part to finish. Excellent service and installation looks great. Would definitely hire again and will recommend.

Horton Maintenance provided excellent service at a very affordable price. Arrived on time, thoroughly addressed all our repairs (refrigerator and dishwasher leaks and over-the-range microwave install) and left our kitchen tidy after the work was complete. Would definitely use again.

He gave me a quote to install a dishwasher in my home. He uninstalled the old one and installed the new one and had to run to Lowe's to get a part and still charged me the same price in the quote range. I would absolutely use Joe again. Friendly and explained his work and problems encountered as well.

After speaking with them on the phone, and describing the symptoms (and the fact that the dishwasher was in a flood, theybwere very honest and told me that I'd be better off just buying a new dishwasher. The cost of parts and labor would be almost as much as a new one. I appreciate them not wasting my time and charging me for a service call.

The dishwasher kept filling up with water when not in use and had a bad oder to it as well. Chris was very helpful at explaining what the probable cause was and fixed the problem in a reasonable time. Chris is extremely knowledgable and honest. I have been so impressed with his professionalism that now he is my go to person if I have any home repair questions or issues.

He did a repair on our toilet. We like how honest he was. He gave us a clear picture of what was wrong and when he went to buy materials, he showed us the receipt right away without being asked. He was ontime, and he did a very good job. It is hard to hire someone online sometimes because you don't know if you can trust someone coming to your home. We will definitely hire hime again.

Tech was on time, on budget and solved my freezer problem very quickly. Also, did some extra work for us. He fixed the dishwasher rack that had bad plastic guides while he was on site. Had the parts on the truck 😃. I will definitely use them in the future and refer to anyone needing appliance repair. Wife and I where both very pleased.

I have been pretty happy with my KitchenAid - 24" Tall Tub Built-In Dishwasher. I purchased it a couple of years ago and I have been pleased with its performance. I had an old Sears dishwasher for years and it did not do a very good job. It was not a bad appliance; it was just way past its prime. My New KitchenAid Dishwasher is very modern and it does a great job on the dishes. The other day I was very upset to see a line of water coming out from under the dishwasher. I immediately called up Houston Authorized Repair and had them send out a technician. In the meantime I had to pull the dishwasher out and clean up all of the water. The technician Victor showed up the next day and after examining the appliance he told me that I blew a gasket in the back where the drain hose is. He said he thought he might have one on the truck, and sure enough he did. The entire visit was over quick and cost me hardly anything. I was really impressed by how fast they had my dishwasher back up and running for such a reasonable price. I will be recommending Houston Authorized Repair to all of my friends and family.

We have had a Kenmore dishwasher for a few years now, and it has always been a decent machine, very few problems with it. It is not really high tech, and it leaves spots, but for the most part it does a pretty good job, but recently we have noticed that the water does not completely drain from the bottom of the dishwasher right away. It lays in there for a while before it drains. Not real crazy about the possibilities of mold forming. So I gave Sugar Land Appliance Repair a call. I have used these guys a couple of times before, and I am always impressed by how professional and affordable they are. Once again I was not disappointed. They got me an appointment the same week. The technician Vince was very friendly and knowledgeable. Turns out the dishwasher was not draining right. Vince fixed it right up and the price was very reasonable. These guys are great! I have recommended them to all of my friends and family and I have heard nothing but positive things from the people I know who have given them a try.

We have a Kenmore 30" Electric Induction Cooktop and we have been very happy with it since purchasing it back in 2012. The other day I went to cook breakfast and neither of the left hand burners would work. I am no Repairman. My wife made me sign a pre-nup stating that I would never repair anything in our home. So she called up Katy Appliance Repair and set up an appointment for Thursday. The repair guy Dave showed up on time, and he seemed to be a really nice guy. He took a look at our unit and said he could fix it but he would need to order parts. He gave me his estimate, and it seemed very fair, so we gave him the go ahead to order the parts and do the work. He called us up 2 days later and said he had the parts and could stop by before close of day, and do the work. I told him that sounds great. He showed up at 4 and had the unit fixed in under an hour. He did a great job, and it has worked fine ever since. The whole experience was pretty painless, and it did not cost us an arm and a leg. All in all this is a great company. They work hard to get your appliance back up and running ASAP and they do it for a fee that does not break the bank. I will continue to use them in the future, and I recommend if you have an appliance that needs repaired in the Houston area, that you also give them a try.

          Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does refrigerator repair cost?

Refrigerator repair generally costs a fraction of the price of a new fridge and shouldhave your appliance up and running again in no time. The problems your refrigerator is experiencing and the parts required to fix it will affect your repair costs. Where you live can affect labor rates, which will raise or lower your costs. Here are some examples of average costs:

          • Diagnostic fees: $50-$100. Repair pros often have a service call fee or diagnostic fee to account for their time traveling to your location with all their tools to assess the problem. If you choose to have them repair the fridge, most pros then credit this fee toward your repair cost.
          • Parts: $20-$500. A new compressor averages $200, an icemaker $300, and computerized components such as touch screens and control boards average $300 or more.
          • Basic repairs: $180-$400, including parts. This price range can include repairing the evaporator or fan motor.

          How long do fridges last?

Refrigerators can last 10 to 20 years, although the most common lifespan is about 13 years. If your fridge is acting up, consider its current age when deciding whether to invest in repairs or buy a new one. Common easy fixes include faulty thermostats, dirty coils and clogged drain lines. Thermostats and dirty coils can be generally be fixed for an average cost of $80-$100. Clogged drain lines, which usually cause leaks, can often be fixed for under $200.

More complex refrigeration repairs such as replacing a bad compressor or replenishing low refrigerant can cost more because of expensive parts and higher labor. A new compressor costs an average of $200, not including labor. If labor is an average of $75-$100 per hour, and the repair takes 3 hours, you’re looking at roughly $500. Consider the age and purchase cost of your fridge; investing $350 in a $600 fridge that is 8 years old may not be cost-effective.
