Introduction: My name is Samson and I'm the owner of Samson Power Movers. I started in the moving industry at the age of 12 in New Orleans . The company I worked for back then was called Arthur Perez Moving Company and they been in business since the late 1800's and still operate today. I learned everything about moving from that outstanding company. I have a deep passion for the moving industry , especially when it come to packing our clients items in our trucks with perfection without a hairline damage to our clients treasures.

This review is long overdue for about a year, well better late then ever.These guys was on time and super strong even though they were smaller men. The only thing was that I had this very heavy piece that last time I moved it took 6 men because it a cast iron staute of Sitting Bull. That's when the team told me that this was a Samson feat of Strength that I was about to witness. They called Samson out and this guy look like actually Samson from the bible. I was surprised to see a man like this. Anyway, Samson and the two guys got it up the stairs like it wasnt nothing because they put all the weight on Samson because he was at the bottom. Samson must of had over a 1000 pounds in his hands. Even though my bill was over a 1000.00, I had to give Samson a 500.00 tip because what I witnessed was unreal. Thank you guys and I hope Samson Power Movers become the biggest thing in Texas.

Would not recommend them. The guys did a pretty good job (which is why I'm giving them 2 stars) besides the fact they put a huge chip in our new house's front door frame from the refrigerator and were smoking cigarettes in the trailer that all my furniture was in. The real problem was when a young lady showed up in her pajamas smoking a cigarette, first in the trailer then right on my front porch where the front door was wide open and me being pregnant right inside having to come into our new home. When we called the manager to complain about the girl, who I thought was one of their girlfriends, he informed us that she was one of his employees. We never got an apology which was mainly all we was looking for, the manager basically didn't care. Would not recommend them.

The movers were great but the company is too worried about money! They probably spent 20 to 30 minutes on paperwork which I was charged for the time. Example: 9:00 am they arrived, paperwork, packed the furniture ( I ran to the bank while they wrapped china cabinet and said they had to take the feet off the cabinet so they could move it (I have had this cabinet moved 3 times without feet being taken off; they put it on a dolly but more time right?), put shelf, double bed headboard and the cabinet on the truck; 20 minutes) and they were sitting in their truck waiting for me when I got back; great! We went to storage 9:30 am(5 min trip) and I literally sat there 6 minutes before one guy got out and the other one was still in the truck on phone doing paperwork so the 9:35 am one guy put the shelf and the headboard in the storage. We came out and the other guy came back wanting me to sign that everything was delivered and fine (but we weren't finished?) and wanted me to pay for the time which they estimated to be finished by 11:00 am. Fine paperwork done and paid for. So now the china cabinet had to be put in the storage so they move it into storage. I asked where the feet for my china cabinet was so they could put it on and they said they left them at my house but they could put cabinet on a piece of cardboard? I told them I wanted them to put them; they said they would have to charge me for more time? I told them it was the their fault they left them at my house; they let me go get them and they put them on for me. These two guys were very professional and polite but the pressure they must feel from their boss is wrong. Nobody should pay until a service is performed and they are satisfied. They should do the paperwork at the beginning then start the clock..then move...then stop the clock and do the paperwork!!

It is our company policy that we require payment prior to offloading. It's in our contract that you signed.We only charge you one hour for your move which is our minimum requirement. My guys are very great movers and maybe they seen something by taking the feet of the cabinet that may have protected better.

Samson Power Movers go above and beyond to ensure their customers have an excellent moving experience. When our original moving company backed out on our office move at the very last minute, Samson Power Movers came to our rescue even though they had a packed day of moves and had to work us in. The movers kept us updated on when they would arrive. They were courteous and worked efficiently to move us as quickly as possible. They were professional and helpful in every possible way. They were working in the middle of the night due to the circumstances of our move but they still did an incredible job. I highly recommend Samson Power Movers and I would definitely use them again.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We have 2-5 man crews and we don't have a 2, 3 or 4 hour minimum. We charge by the hour but after the first hour we PRORATE it every 15 minutes so you get charge for exact time. Our company will provide you with a box covered truck or enclosed trailer 24-footer or BIGGER. We will provide you with pads and dollies and all of the tools necessary to disassemble and reassemble if that a requirement as well as the well.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1st. Get to know our client and their needs for service. 2nd. Gather all information such as where are they moving from and to, full inventory list and any other important details. 3rd. Send a proposal through email, which is require by state law 4th. Follow up until the clients move date.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We have over 100 years of generational knowledge of the moving industry. I started working with a company at the age of 12 for almost 20 years that started in the late 1800's. I was able to retained all of that knowledge and use it to structure the performance of our movers within our company.
