I started working with Phyllis 2 weeks before Christmas in 2014 and wanted to lose 15-30 pounds. I had tried working out on my own for 2 years off and on, but found it hard to lose weight once I hit 39/40 years old, although I was a vegetarian. I am happy to report that to date, I have lost at least 20 pounds and am well on my way to losing 10 more. I must say, I was mortified when she arrived clad with her camera at our first session, but I am happy when I look back at the transformation that is looking much better. Phyllis really helped me revitalize the way that I ate and provided customized menu options and checked in with me via text daily during the critical phases of my journey. She zeroed in on how to increase my protein intake and decrease my carb consumption. I have an extremely slow digestive system and I have found that working out with Phyllis greatly accelerates my digestion. Training with her at my house is ultra convenient and helps since I have a demanding career that involves travel. In terms of her body management/fitness coaching, it is phenomenal! She really studies my movements during the workout and corrects my form and pushes me appropriately to ascend to the next level. She uses creativity and innovation to come up with new workouts so I don't get bored. I absolutely hate using treadmills and gym equipment in general, but with Phyllis' help, I have been able to walk/jog rapidly on an incline of 10-15 (which would have never happened on my own)! Regardless of where we work out (home, neighborhood, gym, park, etc.), she finds a way to create an energizing workout that ends with a refreshing stretch/cool down. Phyllis is a Registered Nurse as well, so she is respectful of health challenges and finds ways to work around them and achieve the same results. She really is an amazing, professional, passionate fitness and nutrition coach that I would wholeheartedly recommend to others.

Phyllis has been an answer to prayers. After having a baby at 40 and struggling with my weight I felt hopeless some days. In addition I had a knee injury about 15 years ago. Working out with Phyllis is the best thing I could have done for me and my body at this time in my life. Thank You Phyllis.

I never had a trainer that cared so much about the clients, gave great meal plans, called or texted to see how my diet was going. Overall she's a great trainer and I will keep coming back.

Phyllis was my trainer for several months. She's good at what she does. I began to see results immediately. I would recommend others to her. You won't regret having her in your corner. She will push you to reach your desired goal. Keep up the good work Phyllis.

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I made the health commitment and decided to take advantage of a gym membership. After about 2 months, the pounds came off slowly. But, I was in need for more of a challenge that really structured my eating and exercise routine. Watching YouTube videos on health and fitness was not cutting it. I met a fitness modeling coach through a friend who gave me the tools that I needed to transform my body. Within 3 months, dropped 30 lbs. my energy and confidence was on blast, and I was competing on stage in a fitness competition! After that amazing experience, I wanted to start teaching group classes. I became a Certified Group Instructor. I enjoyed that so much, that I become interested in training clients who needed more individual attention on correct form and alignment to avoid injury. I pursued certification in Personal Training, along with a specialty in corrective exercise.
