We asked Jared to take pictures of our family. We had not taken professional pictures of us before and didn't know how to color coordinate, which location to choose from, and how to "pose". Jared asked us what we were looking for and based on that he suggested a beautiful tiny park on the University of South Carolina grounds. Jared was so patient, especially with our 6-year old daughter. He listened to what shots were important to us, but also allowed us to enjoy candid moments as a family that we could not have thought of. Overall Jared really went above and beyond creating a beautiful memory for us. The pictures turned out amazing, and I can only recommend Jared M. Jarvis Photography!

Jared did couples/maternity photos for my husband and I. I found him on Facebook and glad I did. He is really nice and helped us get some great shots over the hour long photo shoot. We had bad weather the day of the original photo shoot and he gladly let us do them the next day and the weather was awesome. Thanks again Jared.

Jared was a very thorough photographer. He made sure to get every shot we requested and then some! His creative ideas helped make our picture taking experience a pleasant and efficient one. He took special attention to capture our baby and dog in some of their most natural moments. We highly recommend Jared M. Rance's experience: I don't even have a clue where to start with Jared. He's a great photographer who knows so much about the profession. Jared was so good about catching our personalities and loosening us up to bring out our photogenic sides. It was very nice to work with someone who didn't just want those traditional posing pictures he wanted to take pictures of us being us. Jared worked so hard for us preparing for the photo shoot. He picked out places and he helped, he even scouted these places out to give us his opinion on them. Even after the shoot Jared quickly got us a few pictures already edited to look at, which was very important to us. We had plenty of questions to ask and he had answers to every one of them. He was open to our ideas on a couple shots and with his expertise he made those shots better than we pictures ourselves. Cassie's experience: Jared was more amazing than I had ever even thought! My boyfriend surprised me with this shoot & I was very hesitant to agree when he said he booked a total stranger who just moved to Houston, but after meeting Jared & seeing some of his work, I was a little more comfortable. Jared started capturing genuine moments the day of our shoot...silly faces & laughter is so common in my relationship with Rance, & Jared somehow managed to capture the beauty of the moments we shared that day. I told Jared his photography skills were so exceptional that editing wasn't even needed! He knows his stuff! He listened to our ideas, focused on more natural poses versus the forced ones you see in a lot of shoots, and was so personable with us. He worked so hard in every aspect of getting our shoot together. There is definitely an art to what he does & we will be booking him for future endevores.

I love Jared's work he caught every moment of my wedding. Everytime I look around he was snapping pictures left and right. For a moment I thought the camera was glued to his hands (lol) I love how he worked with are crazy family's to get the perfect shot no matter how difficult they was he was still professional and got the job done....I highly recommend that everyone hire him I well be calling him for future work

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I recently studied for almost a year under one of the top wedding photographers in Columbia, SC.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always had a love for cameras and photography. I've seemed to have some sort of camera in my hand since childhood.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Family portraits, weddings, and engagement sessions are my most common jobs. I also specialize in corporate head-shots and event photography.
