I enjoyed the tuner very much. As a piano player, I even learned some things I didn't know. ThanksSep 29, 2019VerifiedHouston Piano Tuning Service's reply
It was so nice to meet you Barbara and be able to even sing together. God bless Evan
Evan is a very friendly and professional fellow. He is an excellent piano tuner! He took our Yamaha C3 apart to work on the hammers to improve the sound quality of various keys. He takes pride in his work. I highly recommend Evan!Dec 13, 2017VerifiedHouston Piano Tuning Service's reply

Evan was wonderful to have working on my piano. He was extremely thorough and wanted to be sure that I was pleased with the resulting sound. I will definitely be using Evan again and will gladly refer my friends to him. Five Stars for Evan!Sep 24, 2019Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Standard tuning $150 Quote call-out $100, deducted from any work carried out. Pitch raising + $100 Adjustments calculated on hourly rate $50 /p hr All 'extra work' will be discussed before carrying out. Please note strings may break on older pianos not tuned for years. String replacement charge $70 uprights (includes all broken strings.), $? depending on grand brand / number of strings.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I like to see the piano, play it then work through, in order of priority, the most important changes and improvements. Tuning is like a haircut, after a time period it needs re-doing. It's ongoing. Whereas changes in the touch of the keyboard can also make a great difference in how you feel when you play the piano.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?3+ years of tuning pianos at Roberts Pianos Oxford. Tuning for Oxford University, Oxford Brookes University (whilst an alumni), tuning for recording studios, Roberts Pianos stock pianos and private clients as well as looking after our piano at home! Although, my father and brothers did that too.
