- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We offer two options for pricing depending on the customer's interests and needs. 1. Fixed price to include initial consultation and photo shoot with images provided digitally to the customer. the number of photos provided depends on the length of the shoot, number of locations/wardrobe changes and family members. 2. Full custom shoot that includes initial consultation, photo shoot, post photo review, processing, artistic backgrounds (if desired), and custom printing. All printing is done in house on professional EPSON printers on fine art quality paper or canvas up to 40x60. Note: Printing and post photo processing may be added after an initial order.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When scheduling a new customer we begin with a discussion on the customer's end goals and desired photo shoot locations. We will research locations for best timing on light and research any requirements or limitations for professional photography. About a week before the shoot, we plan a consultation to finalize any details. During this session, we have found it is best if the customer can share image ideas and poses along with expectations on how the final images will be used. During the shoots we typically have assistants to help with the lighting and poses along with reviewing images on a laptop for quality and adjustments real time. After the shoot, photos are uploaded to a secure client site for review. I often process a few of my favorites for the client to review. The number photos processed and provided depend on the engagement. I have found it best to schedule a post shoot consultation to ensure the customer is satisfied with the images and to close out the engagement. This may be done virtually or in person.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a Nikon Professional in Nikon Professional Services which has minimum standards for all photography equipment and requires an extensive review of my portfolio, web-site and published images as well as a demonstration of my working knowledge of all my gear. My approach to training is to constantly seek opportunities to learn from those that are better than me. I subscribe to a number of professional journals and virtual training services. In addition, I research photographers all over the US, studying their images, constantly seeking to learn new techniques or best practices. I have found professional photographers more than willing to spend a day or more sharing their ideas from capturing light, action, how they process images, or getting the best color from in a finished print.
