- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My bachelors degree in Finance has come in handy as real estate is ALL ABOUT NUMBERS! Think about it... My Masters Degree in Community Development has allowed me to learn what makes a viable community. This has given me a different perspective on analyzing neighborhoods. Of course, my Real Estate Agent License training has equipped me with the necessary tools to properly put together contracts for my clients, explain various rules and regulations when it comes to real estate transactions here in Texas, etc.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My senior year of college I was required to take one additional elective to graduate. My advisor mentioned Intro to Real Estate as an option for me. Before I fully committed to the course the professor, Professor Hawk, allowed me to sit in on one of his sessions. I WAS HOOKED! From that point I successfully passed with the highest grade out of my classmates, an A. The course was tough, but my interest was deep. Here I am today.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure you hire an Agent who has a good team. Your Agent guides you through the process. For buyers this means finding a great lender, inspector, title company, etc. For sellers, your agent ensures you set your home up for success - staging, professional photography, marketing, market analysis. For landlords, giving you peace of mind that your property is well taken care of, finding quality tenants and ensuring you don’t have to lift a finger. There’s strategy behind it all.
