FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $25/30 min lesson. If you recommend me to someone else and they begin taking lessons, both of you will receive the discounted price of $20/hour!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first singing lesson is a diagnostic lesson. We will get to know each other, establish goals, and create a practice schedule. I highly recommend 1 lesson per week, but once every 2 weeks is also acceptable. We can also arrange lessons for twice a week. I prefer to do 30 minute sessions for my younger reading/writing students—I know how hard it can be to concentrate longer than that! Older students may contract me by project. We will talk about their goals and establish a timeline for accomplishing it. From brainstorming to final edits, I am always available to work with you. We might choose to do one or two Skype sessions and then send edits back and forth. No more all-nighters—let’s get it done ahead of time and make it a product of which you’re proud.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I completed my Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal performance in May 2020. I have taken voice lessons for 5 years myself and have been teaching for two years. I have also taken a Vocal Pedagogy class, in which I was trained to teach beginner-level singers, instructing them in technique and vocal health. I tutored reading and writing throughout middle school and high school. I edited my friends’ papers on the side throughout college, earning high grades for myself in all writing-intensive classes.
