- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It's not complicated. We calculate the cost of Equipment Rentals, Management/Production labor and Editing. We can then put a package together in line with what the client wants/needs.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We belong to local Film clubs and online discussion groups, we take "how to" courses on editing and we lean on each other for advice and assistance.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My father was a photographer. I used to help him. I also ran sound at a lot of events growing up. Eventually, people offered to pay for my help and I became a regular sound man, photographer, videographer and/or A/V technician for events. The others in our group of freelancers could say the same thing. Passion develops out of service.
