Introduction: The Markow House and Be My Guest personalize every menu, and we have been doing that with many happy customers since 2005. We work tirelessly, enthusiastically and creatively to make your event everything you have dreamed about. Your satisfaction is always our main concern, so budget, taste and beauty are always considered as one. We offer complete packages covering everything from planning to clean up, so nothing has to be worried about. Our clients are treated the way we would want our family members to be treated, and in many cases they remain dear friends long after the events are complete. There is nothing more satisfying that creating an event where everyone is enjoying the ambiance as well as the quality of food. At Be My Guest we strive to use locally sourced products, and whenever possible organic. Great care is taken in the production of our food. Nothing is pre-made or purchased as a finished product. Many times our produce comes from our own organic gardens. Our buffet designs and set up reflect Chef Helen's first education as a visual artist, and now her culinary and artistic skill are combined to create stunning as well as delicious food.

The food was amazing! There was nothing that I tasted that I didn't like! The meat was savory, the vegetables well seasoned, and the cake tasted as good as it looked.

Amazing food, high quality meat-- not mushy or stringy like we've had at other people's events! Sides are amazing, house made bread, soups to die for. Would definitely have again at our next event.

Loved having our wedding here, and I highly recommend the in-house catering. We had a stellar buffet that more than satisfied all of our guests, and we had people telling us months down the road that they loved it. It was great working with Helen and getting all of our ideas out. She really made our dream wedding come true!

FAQs

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The only "standard" for pricing is to make sure I provide the highest quality product and stay with in the clients budget. I don't believe in up-selling, but I also find it difficult to deal with people who don't want to pay for quality work and product.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually start with a few questions to get the feel for budget and what the goal the client has in mind for the event. Once the initial consult takes place I will design a few menus for the client to peruse, and we often exchange e-mails regarding decor etc right up until the event. This process can take anywhere from an immediate decision on the client's part to several consults. For a large event, like a wedding, a menu tasting will take place to finalize the selection. Then the contract is signed a a deposit is made.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
University of Texas, majored in Fine Arts, Escoffier School for Culinary Arts, 30 years in the food industry.
