- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Interior design has always been a passion for Christine; since childhood, she was known for redecorating her room on almost a monthly basis. She realized that interior designers impact the human experience and transform lives, and she wholeheartedly pursued this career path. Home staging came later, as a result of being contacted by individuals who were having difficulties selling their homes. Instead of advising these clients to spend thousands of dollars on renovations and updates, Christine took a different approach. If the homes were vacant, she brought in furniture and accessories to evoke emotion and create a lasting impression. If the homes were occupied, she worked with the flow of the home, eliminating clutter, editing and arranging furniture, and even assisting in enhancing curb-appeal. The results of home staging were impressive - the staged sold within weeks of being listed and for top dollar (many times over asking price). This blazed a new trail for Christine and Dezign Zoo, and the firm's focus is primarily on this rewarding and exciting path.
