Photography via Jaime Torres

Introduction: My style is "Jaime-esque". It's vague I realize, however to put what I do into a very specific style, a niche, is too limited in interpretation and approach. By approach, I mean how I approach it. Some people only work doing street photography, some people only work shooting commercial landscapes such as fast food joints, and other aspects of commercialism. That is not me, because I believe it to be too stifling to do, or to be labeled a certain style. As Kierkegaarde has said, "Once you label me you negate me". However, the creative process for me is quite simple. I'm a naturally curious person, and often times I find myself asking why, how, where, when, what, who etc. I believe this curiosity of mine feeds into my artwork in photography. Essentially, I want to know more about something, or I have an idea and I want to see how that idea translates into the camera. I liken it much to speaking with a person (which is the subject matter or idea) and getting to know them. You get to know the person by engaging with that person and asking questions. In return, they answer my question.
